Valve confirms new TF2 maps in the pipe

Map pack for Xbox 360, individual releases for PC. But no word on new PS3 content
Valve Software is set to release new maps for Team Fortress 2, its team-based multiplayer sequel featuring in The Orange Box.

Shacknews reports that the developer plans to release the maps individually for PC and in a map pack for TF2 on Xbox 360. As yet there's been no mention of the maps releasing for the PS3 version.

Quite what the maps are and precisely when they'll be released is to be announced.

In related news a patch for Team Fortress 2 on Xbox 360 that addresses bugs and exploits, amongst other things, is imminent, possibly out just before Christmas.

Good news, I got bored of the maps while back in the beta stage, so I haven't really played it since buying it, this might give it a fresh lease of life, and hopefully there will be different themes this time.

Will they retail for a typical Microshaft 800 points?

Odds on them doing an about-face and trying to charge for the pc maps?

Wahoo! I've been looking forward to some new maps for TF2. 6 just isn't enough! But, I hope they're a good price and not a rip-off.

Good news but i'm sure Microsoft will fleece us once again like the sheep that we are! Not that i would blame Valve cos the value of the orange box is outstanding.

portal maps, portal maps, portal maps and PORTAL MAPS?
they can stuff TF2 maps right up their brown portal

Zero.

Anyway, the game definitely needs more maps. Everyone's got too savvy with the current ones. I hope they change the look a bit too - that 'dusty Texan refinery' look wears thin after a while.

You guys should try playing some of the home brew maps that are on the servers at the mo. I suspect allot of them are remakes of original TF maps, and the quality is generally high!

I would like to disagree, all custom maps i played were rubbish. VALVe must have done a lot of play testing to get the official ones right.
I just hope they will release more than 2 new maps...
(hopefully at least one CTB)

If they charge for maps, don't pay for them, it's as simple as that. You're a sucker if you do and you ruin it for the rest of us by telling them it's ok to rip us off.

BTW, is the PS3 version as s**t as I've heard?

Some Portal maps would be great too. Maybe they'll bung them in a nice little TF2maps/Portalmaps package Smile

i really doudt valve would charge for anything other than the games. especially on the pc

and the ps3 version isnt as good as the 360 and pc versions but its along way from being s**t.
