An 800 MB demo for Burnout Paradise is now up on Xbox Live. But if you're stuck at work and don't play games for a living, allow us to brag a little and show you some in-game footage.
As you'll see, it's all good so far. We were recently at EA's HQ for a more in depth session and liked what we saw.

Here's a clip: "Paradise is a very different Burnout game. The biggest change is that it's jumping on the free-roaming city bandwagon that every current-gen racing game seems to parade with such enthusiasm these days.
"Unlike your Test Drives and Midnight Clubs though, the metropolis in Burnout Paradise has truly been designed for a wealth of things to do inside your motor."
Check out the movies below and read the rest of our preview here.
Looks like the 360 version is just as scrumptious as the ps3 version. Wicked. Hats off to the developers who join IW in the top tier of multi-platform devs.
Yep, I can't see it either. It starts fine but as soon as the embedded advert loads everything disappears.
Once again its the stupid and annoying adverts that C&VG run that is ruining it. One that deletes the article, and the other that pops down from the top to obscure the whole thing.
I wish advertisers would realise, you make a banner add that blocks what I came to read - I don't care what you're advertising, I'm not going to buy it.
hope this burnout isnt too OTT this time. last burnout i played was more like wipeout with they silly massive-and-colorful nos afterburners. less bling more control plz! and less boosting preferably.. sporadic well timed bursts of boost is all we need, not boosting most of the time
I don't think you get the point of burn out at all. I started off with #2, I'll admit it was a lot harder to get boost. However with enough practice you could boost around the courses 99% of the time. They just made it easier for people to get boost.
If you want a slower game with no bling, you should check out Forza or Gran Turismo.

thats my point. boosting round 99% of a track in my view is cheap as f**k. where is the handling? wheres the control? its as cheesy as they 2 bob handheld rolling racers where u guide the 'car' from left to right to avoid the sides..
where the f**k is the talent in it?!! u should be braking more than u boost. a good game that got it right was colin mcrae dirt - unless u have a slow car, u cant hold the accelerator in all the way... u need to let off the gas all the time to regain grip on the road. the last burnout i played (the 360 knockup) was cheap arcade thrills. absolutley minimal skill.. smashed it off the wall in disgust. they overdone the boost immensely, id go as far to say as the overkill of boosting ruins it. tone it down for f**k sake! a LITTLE realism plz! just hope they got more of a balance this time as the original ps burnout i played was great.
If you think that, then you need to go play the tons of other, same old, racing games. Burnout is the only series of racing games which I actually like, if they make it more realistic then its bye bye racing genre for me Its just normal racing games kind of bore me, you just ignore all the other races and concentrate on the track and breaking at the right times and I just don't like that, I prefer nearly flying around the track at insane speeds, dodging traffic and smashing into the competition.
After playing the demo though... I think I still prefer Burnout 2 or Revenge.
I am enjoying the demo. A bunch of us were playing online tonight just mucking about and you gotta love the xbox vision screen shot when you take somebody down that is genius.
I downloaded both versions, It's true, they are almost identical.
PS3 version has DTS surround which is nice, Plus the textures in the distance seem a bit sharper but the 360 has a nicer pad and a load of old burnout friends on-line so i suppose it wins.
Playing this last night on PS3, and its absolutely fantastic! Loving the seemless online option, which just plops you online when you want. Loving the new crash physics. Not sure if I like the open nature of the game yet with it's lack of structure, I've not played enough to decide.
Game's absolutely brill otherwise.
One thing though... I hope there's crash junctions in the full game. I miss them...
