S.T.A.L.K.E.R. dev "considering" an MMO

GSC spills beans in a community Q&A
Is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer GSC Game World looking to jump on the massively multiplayer online bandwagon?

"If you mean an MMOG, then we are seriously considering it", it's commented in response to the question "Will there be S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online?" in a community Q&A.

The developer's best known in wider gaming circles for its irradiated shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, but it's also seen success with its Cossacks strategy series and has dabbled with fantasy and RTS-RPG hybrid action in Heroes of Annihilated Empires.

But who knows, should it pursue an MMOG in earnest, whether it's based on an existing property or something entirely new?

GSC recently sparked speculation on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. coming to Xbox 360 when it revealed last month that it's become a certified Xbox developer.

Read the entire - brief - community Q&A here.

a very buggy mmog isn't something to dream about. but stalker coop on xbox 360 would be fantastic. (sharing the terror moments)

but when you think about it stalker shadow of chernobyl i buil a bit like wow were you take quest and go out in a bit open world and do them so it would probably work nicely. (plz add 3 meter tall mutant tings living in the severs ok (15 meter long worm like thing that spew acid maybe with mutated birds living under its skin))

Maybe a MMOG's incremental developement model is more suited for them, concidering their track record.

Who isn't considering an MMO? Make sure you follow the rules - base it on the UO style of game, which in turn is basen on PnP RPG's, then (unless you are very f**king lucky, or have some immense background material like LoTR or Warhammer) watch you game bomb in six months.

There's never going to be another WoW, simply because there already is a WoW. Wise up eh?
