It's been a while since we've run a story based on those online retailers jumping the gun and revealing an as yet unannounced title, so here goes nothing. Amazon's US website is listing Gears of War 2 for a November 15 release, 2008 on Xbox 360.
Now Microsoft or Epic haven't officially announced a sequel but even the man in the corner shop knows it's coming.
The fact that Amazon has listed the date as Nov 15 means that someone there knows a bit about video games, as the original launched around the same time in 2006 depending on where you live.
Two years for a sequel is plenty of time these days. We're actually going to raise our expectations because of this and not expect 'more of the same'.
Epic will have had plenty of time to plan accordingly. Fingers crossed Microsoft and / or Epic announces Gears 2 soon.
You can read about more unannounced 360 games that we know are coming in this feature.
Seriously now. Come on! You guys can do better than this. You guys know better than this. At what point did amazon become the no 1 place for videogame news?? Sure, its possible that the game will be released then, but should you really be posting preorders for uannounced games as news?
Fair enough Gav, but i still think that this sort of "news" should be left for features like the one you did the other day. I'm sure if i went onto amazon, i could find the release date of many games that haven't been announced
Bit stupid quoting Amazon release dates but everyone suspects this one will be 360's 'big' game for fall 2008. Im sure we'll get an official announcement at E3 and then all the 360 owners crying over the PC versions extra content will shut up.
You could'nt pay me to pre-order it - not my kind of game at all - controls suck - slow moving - stuck in invisible glue - characters move like they weigh 20 tons each etc etc....
Where you just GEARing up to use this story? It's Amazoning that this news hasnt been mentione before, afterall a blind could have told you that Gears 2 will be the bog holiday/xmas game for 360 in 2008, afterall halo 4 wont be ready by end of next year, thats 2009 maybe.
