It looks like PSP still has a long wait in store when it comes to seeing Gran Turismo grace its lovely screen.
Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has explained that, while he's very much working on Gran Turismo Portable, it won't be out till after Gran Turismo 5 releases.
Speaking to Spanish website Meristation, Yamauchi said that GT 5 is currently pencilled in for Christmas 2008, but that it won't be released until everything is perfect.
A PSP version of Gran Turismo 4 was supposed to be around for the handheld's launch in 2005.
In the interview he also reveals that Gran Turismo 5's online component is something that will be worked on for around a year following the game's release. Whether this refers to fine-tuning and/or post-release download content isn't clear.
Come on Sony, this was promised years back, at least give us some of the finer elements of the GT series by releasing GT1 and GT2 to the PSN Store, just to tide us over till it does eventually get released.
May as well not bother, by the time it is ready we'll be on PSP 2. Then they'll anounce a PSP 2 version, which will take another 2 years before it finally comes out.
By then all the polar ice caps have melted and all our PSPS's are waterlogged and won't work.
Well Sony asked them to focus on the PS3 version so they can get that out ASAP. Lets face it the PS3 needs a game like this. So PSP version has been put on hold until its finished as they want all their resources going into making the PS3 version the best it can be. A good idea IMO
lol that says it all, it was first announced to be a launch title for Dec 2004! yet here we are in Dec 2007...a full 3 years late and probably another 2 years before release...they may as well announce it for PSP2 by the time it comes out PSP will be dead against the DS.
sold my psp a few months ago cos the software just never really materialised. This just about sums up sony and their software issues. PSP and PS3 seem to be cut from the same cloth.
Am i the only person who dosnt see this gaming working on a portble handheld console, afterall, who has time to sit and play a race which might take an hour to finish it, handheld gaming is once again being missed by sony's attempth to shoehorn PS2 games onto the system.
Yeah, give it up and concentrate on other things as by the time it comes out its gonna be old (no crash physics compared to burnout paradise, flat-out head-on psp!) lol
well, you can either have a rubbish shameful GT early, or a perfected version later. This makes no difference to me as i think the PSP is a tad rubbish.
