PlayStation Store gets three new demos

Must be Christmas, or something...
Sony Europe has treated all those new PS3 owners with a nice little update to the PlayStation Store in the form of three new demos.

In no particular order, the demos are:

  • Super Stardust HD demo
  • The Club demo
  • Snakeball demo

For a change there was no update to the US PlayStation Store this week.

We'd like to think that's a sign of things to come but we suspect that Sony US has the whole holidays off while its European office is full of busy little bees.

Well would download them but PS3 is bricked due to some power problem or graphics card failure (CN2). Evil or Very Mad

Long story but think there are problems with PS3's going unreported, failure rate is not 1% to 3% either that or my 7 week PS3 (in well ventilated area)is one of those unlucky ones.

My PS3 is still healthy since the launch. I have had 3 Xbox 360s!

Rolling Eyes

Yup just bad luck on my doorstep with it but while looking around the net ran across a few more of the same problem red light blinking and others with disc read errors. First console I have had that has died on me and been using them since the Atari back in the day, guess it got me in the end. Looks like Sony will be losing some money as I will buy X360 and Wii games to play in the meantime Rolling Eyes

Was looking forward to playing Drake & Oblivion GOTY over Xmas so gathering dust while a replacement is on its way. Crying or Very sad

The club is the biggest stinking pile of s**t that I've ever had the misfortune to play. I really want this game to be banned, someone get Jack on the phone.

Console failures happen, it isn't something to be happy about when it does, but I have had two consoles fail on me, the PS2 and my 360.

Electronic devices fail and that's why retailers say around 5% of any electrical device will fail. Live with it, my 360 failed, so what MS repaired it and it didn't stop me loving the console. If you enjoyed the PS3 in the first place, a replacement unit shouldn't stop you loving it.

Then in a way you win, because without the presence of certain fan-made mods, Oblivion is an absolutely attrocious game. And you can only use fan-made mods with the PC version.

Not in the slightest. The gameplay in unmodded Oblivion's gameplay is simply terrible. In particular, the fact that throughout the entire game you can go almost anywhere and face enemies who are scaled to your level not only causes gameplay issues (i.e. depending on your skill it's almost always too easy, or it's almost always too hard), it often creates ridiculous situations that completely ruin the atmosphere of the setting.

For instance, at lower levels you can face creatures that are supposed to be of legendary, epic status and beat the living snot out of them; you can even beat the arena grand champion, who's supposed be the most skilled, awesome, terrifying fighter in the entire world while you're still at first level! There's no other way to put it: that's simply retarded.

At later levels, you should be able to absolutely throttle those monsters who were causing you trouble back at first level, yet they're barely any easier to defeat. Plus, almost every common-or-garden bandit appears wearing types of armor that are supposed to be ridiculously expensive and/or incredibly rare.

Get a decent fan-made level scaling mod, and not only does the gameplay drastically improve, the game world becomes a hell of a lot more believable.

I downloaded The Club and I must say it is a very average shooter, I certainly won't be getting this when it comes out.

As far as Europe getting content before USA, how about the fact that they have had Pain, Bowling & Shivering Isles expansion pack for the past month, but when are we getting them ....... thanks a lot Sony !!!!
