Bomberman dev sports new Wii game

Ten screenshots show off Decca Sports from Hudson Soft
Hudson Entertainment, the developer of the original Bomberman, has revealed a brand new sports game exclusive to Wii.

The game will feature ten different sports, including archery, curling, football and snowboarding. The screenshots look bold and charming, borrowing more than a little from Wii Sports, and who could blame them? We'd rip it off if we knew how to make games.

John Greiner, boss of Hudson Entertainment, hopes the game will appeal to both casual and hardcore markets. "With Deca Sports" he said, "We wanted to offer a sports package that is unrivalled in terms of sheer number of available sports. More importantly, the game is easy to play, but offers layers of depth that even hardcore sports enthusiasts will love to play."

It remains to be seen whether this added complexity will push Decca Sports too far from the basic principles that made Wii Sports such a pleasure for our grans to play, but those looking for something deeper than Wii Tennis could do worse than keep an eye on this.

Are these characters Mii based? They look it.

It looks like they could be maybe based on the Mii's, but they're far higher polycount and much more detailed than Mii's are. If the Mii's actually looked like that I'd be pretty happy.

If they can get a decent control setup that could be good. The range of sports available there looks pretty varied. The ratings EA Playground got were disappointing, hopefully this one won't disappoint.

EA playground may have got terrible ratings, but it still sold shedloads, when i was working at Zavvi we sold 30 copies of it in a day.

I just want to play the new wii bomberman game, '93 on the virtual console is loads of fun but i'd like a bit more variety =)

I'm certainly no expert, but are those snowboards the wrong way round?
