"Bite-size" PSP games planned for PSN

PSP classic re-releases also to be downloadable
Sony has revealed plans to expand the PSN Store for PC with new "bite-size experiences" for PSP, in an effort to broaden the console's demographic.

PSP senior product manager, John Koller, said about the PC Store: "We have an opportunity to bring bite-size experiences to the system, ten minute, pick up and play content that can be downloaded from the store."

Koller went on to say that the online store will also serve as a port for highly-demanded PSP games that can no-longer be found in shops. Koller told Kotaku that "games that we hear a lot of demand from PSP owners - titles like Wipeout, Twisted Metal" will be made available for download to those who really want them.

Never mind all that, Sony. We want more (good) PS1 games.

So it's demo's..... WOW way to go sony! Next time try snack size. Least then it'll be worth downloading.

I've clocked FFVII on my PSP using custom firmware and then compressing my PS1 games to play on my PSP. It's a bit of effort but great to have my collection of PS1 games on the go.

Maybe sony ought to think of helping those who can't access whats on there already. A lot of users are having major problems downloading anything atm due to some error code 0x80048515. So far Sony seem to be showing no interest in helping users solve this problem despite psp owners ringing and emailing Sony for help. You only need to visit the sony forums to see the number of users now suffering from this problem. undefined

I really think Sony should put PS2 games on the PSN, I wanna be able to play DMC and MGS2 on my PSP! Very Happy

I'm amazed this isn't already happening. As for classic games, why can't you download clasic PS2 games on the PS3? You can download Xbox games on the 360. If HDD size is an issue (likely, what with so many games requiring a partial installation), just upgrade your HDD (you can get 2.5" HDDs of a fairly high capacity fairly inexpensively, way cheaper than the 360 120GB HDD at least. Failing this, get an external HDD, connect to the PS3, and copy high-memory games over. A bit like the problem with the Wii, it's not ideal, but it's one solution).
Why don't Sony introduce the idea by selling memory cards in shops with pre-installed games? They could do FFVII, MGS, and some classic PS2 games scaled down would be nice too.

Give me GT1 & GT2 FFS.

@ AJDarkstar: They probably will not ever do any of the PS2 games on the PS3 like M$ has done with their Xbox Originals program, due to the fact that backwards compatibility has been taken out of the PS3.

360 does all of it's BC via software emulation, whereas Sony do it via part software emulation and part hardware, which was the bit that got taken out.
