Alone in the Dark gets May release

The return of the granddad of the survival horror genre...
Atari's survival horror game Alone in the Dark will release in May, the publisher has confirmed this morning.

It's out on PC, Xbox 360, Wii and PS2, just in case you were wondering. Sorry PS3 owners, but no horror for you in May, although the game is expected on Sony's new console this year (more on the PS3 version here).

The Alone on the Dark game marks the return of the survival horror granddaddy that first appeared in the 1990s. This reinvention of the series has been developed by Eden Games, and events take place in present-day with New York's Central Park the stage for shocks and scares.

Find out more about the game in this preview.

Fantastic news, although its the same old story with the ps3. As an owner of a 360 and a ps3 what incentive do i have to buy the game on ps3 ovber 360 when the games are almost always A) Late, B) More expensive, C )Both of the above.

Very bizarre about the PS3 - why the delay then?

I was hoping for earlier than May release for this, but I can wait. I guess. Just....

*shudders with excitement*

Nice. I hope they researched Wii controls for this, or its gonna be another piece of shovelware. This is Atari's swan song. If they can't make a hit here, theyre permanently sunk.
