According to a post on Gamerscore Blog, the game will made free for a limited period only. The free period kicks off on Wednesday 23 January at 2am PST and ends the following Sunday at 11:59pm PST - which works out something like 6pm on Tuesday 22, and 3.59pm on the Sunday for us in the UK.
What happens if you already own Undertow though? Will you be offered an alternative? Unfortunately it's not clear at the moment.
Undertow's a pretty underwater shoot-'em-up that features single-player, co-op and multiplayer battles. Usually it'd set you back 800 Microsoft Points.
Well 800MP seems pretty generous but why for the love of my right hand do M$ feel the need to choose the game for us? Surely it cant be that hard to just credit points to Gold accounts?? I would have been happy with half the points if it meant i could choose.. Streets Of Rage 2 anyone? Well mushn't grumble, it could have been New Rally-X!

Great!! All the wait to find out that downtime compensation will be a s**t XBLA game, thanks M$ but I think I will turn down your "generousity". They may as well not have bothered, as I know I wont when they make if free to download. It would have been better if they just gave you the 800pts and let us decide what game we could have bought. Oh well, can but dream I suppose

Now the 360 is dead and will probably be away for a month, im using my ps3. Finished god of war last night (great game), and will start on GOW2 tonight. Just wish i had some ps3 games to play on it !!!

Well if it gives you a little more hope, my 360 broke over new year and was sent off and returned in 8 days, which was pretty good I think. It took longer for me to get a cd I'd ordered from Play over xmas!!!
Microsoft should refund ppl the cost of monthly membership for the period it was down (xboxlive).I and other users are still experiencing problems now!Something needs to be done!Anyone who reads this do as i have done and complain to trading standards
