If this new tech video is anything to go by, Far Cry 2 will be one of the most realistic-looking games so far.
This footage is a very brief taster of what the graphics engine behind the new Far Cry sequel can do. Set in Africa, the trailer shows a stunning level of detail in the environment and some impressive lighting affects.

Incidentally, quite a lot of games make the world look pretty impressive. I think the actual test is the characters. Human characters. Every game so far (including Crysis) has failed to make them look human...
I just hope they don't put all their eggs in the 'look at how realistically our fire spreads' basket, it's reasonably impressive but the novelty will wear off pretty quick.
Don't expect to be able to run this on anything but a top end PC, that'd be my advice.
Looks awesome, please god let the console version be good and not another far cry instincts disaster.
Tell me about it, I had to force myself to finish both story modes on the 360. I couldn't believe how crap it was.
Im sure it will be a true next-gen Far Cry this time though, the port of the last one was hardly any better than the Xbox version. Nevermind that "attempt" on the Revolution.

I'll be getting the PC game myself, but judging by the odd interviews around, it seems they really are making every effort to get the console version up to scratch, the editor is even in the console version (bar a few extras in the PC one) so that is a good sign. Hopefully it will capture the magic FarCry had at the time, it still remains my favourite game =D
I will also take this opportunity to lol @ FarCry vengeance.
