PES PS3 patched again

Fixing play on poor man's standard-def TVs
Konami has released another patch for the PS3 version of Pro Evo 2008 to resolve issues with playing the game on standard-definition TVs. Do people still use them?

The game apparently suffered stuttering issues when hooked up to an old-school fat TV, which we imagine would be infuriating for those hooking their £400 super console up to mum and dad's old brick.

The new patch, which is available online and will be installed automatically when you log onto PSN through the game, will stabilise the picture, while you save up enough pennies to get a proper TV.

hows about getting a patch to get the game running normally on a high def telly instead. mine still twitches whenever you play on a patterned pitch. and i haven't even tried playin it 4 player. sort out the online as well. love playin this game with the ps d-pad but unless these things get sorted i might have to trade for the 360 version which seems to run a lot better, except for that strange bend in the middle of the screen.

I would say the majority of people still have standard def TV's. I am one of them as the quality of the LCD panels is only just coming up to a decent standard. I may even wait until either prices drop massively or save for a second Gen OLED display. The contrast ratios are just not good enough for me to upgrade at the moment unless it is a top of the range tv(which are pricey). On another point, have they bothered to patch the 360 version yet? the last time I played it, it was truly rubbish online.

try the ps3 one online. its murder. seen the goalie kick the ball out from a goal kick once, he missed the ball ran back into the centre of the goal then ran back up and picked the ball up. plus it sometimes looks like an invisible player has control of the ball. plus haven't they added 2v2 online for the 360 one?

i am a hardcore pes fan, have been since iss on the ps1. i am so let down by 2008 on the ps3 ive played it a maximum of 10 times since its release.
this patch means absolutely nothing to me, it wouldve been nice for them to get a patch to fix the slowdown/framerate issues, but no.
i cant see the point of having people at konami working on this patch when they should have every single brain they can working on 2009 so it is PERFECT.

ye ye blah blah blah everybody knows pes 08 is a load of s**te the games been out for nearly 3 months so no point still goin on about it coz its not gonna get any better is it! We'l just have to put up with it and wait til pes 09 is out in a year.

Anyway anybody here know of any good sites or forums that show you how to edit and fix appearences of players in the ps3 version of pes08?? I found one thats pretty good http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/36342/t1027224-player-appearance-fixes/1.htm. Check it out and if anybody knows of good ones themselves post up the links. Cheers!!! Very Happy

I almost laughed at what was written and i'd just like to say this,
NOT EVERYONE in the world has to money to go out and buy a slightly moderatly better television set, there's people out there with nothing and your basically slagging people of for not having a flat screen tv? your a tool... not everyones in the same boat ya know

think about what you say before you type it

As they still try and fix PES2008 PS3 I continue to play PES6 PS2.

I agree they need a patch to improve the slowdown but at least they're working on improving it and not giving up. But i still think that it's an excellent game.

I've signed up just so I can write a post in reply to the writer of this article, because I think it was really rude and patronizing.

I was fortunate enough to get myself a HDTV recently, but these things are expensive. I'm sure you guys are on good money, but don't make those who can't afford one feel like they're three inches tall or missing out on an amazing gaming experience. Yes, it enhances games, but not really enough to warrant forking out at least Ł600 for one. It just made me angry.

What an unbelievably pretentious article, yes let’s all get high def LCD’s or plasmas and keep fuelling the developers to focis on improved graphics but utterly s**te game play. Real quality games are rare –especially for the PS3 as I am finding out to my misfortune. Off your high horse journo!

Same here. Can I suggest that you focus on actually asking the developers some challenging questions rather than kissing ass and thinking we care about your personal views? Terrible.
