It's hard to believe Mario Kart Wii, of which Nintendo has barely showed anything of, will supposedly be out this spring (as previously stated). But new reports suggest it will be on Japanese shelves come April 10, while April 25 is the rumoured date for UK.
Japanese websites are reporting April 10 as the big day for Mario's next racing bash, although this date is yet to be officially confirmed by Nintendo Japan.
As for UK, online retailer Play is already taking pre-orders, saying the game's slated for an April 25 release.
Nintendo Japan is advertising beta testing vacancies for what is heavily rumoured, according to Kotaku, to be Mario Kart Wii which, if true, this could suggest the game is nearing completion.

They have all the character models from Galaxy and Brawl. They have all the environments already from previous games. The physics and item behaviours are all from existing games.
All they really need to do with it is add the mechanics of making it karting instead of running and plant some tarmac over the levels
I'm not convinced it'll ship on the date expected, but you never know.
I want Smash Bros Brawl first! Can't wait for it. Seeing as how Brawl is out before Mario Kart in Japan I'd say we'll see it first over here too.
The fact that Mario Kart Wii is entirely motion controlled means I'm going to need some convincing. I'll have to see lots of reviews and impressions to be sure the controls hold up.

Excite truck proved that it is possible to use the motion controls effectively for a driving game. A few tweaks and I am sure MK will be great.
Before I type anything on this topic, people should know that MKDD!! is my favourite in the Mario Kart series. It is the most chaotic and joyous edition so far, and felt far more fun than the someone restrained MKDS.
Anyway, with that done, and with Brawl nowhere on the horizon, I can't see why this shouldn't happen. Thinking back to Męlée, it had loads of text in (trophies etc.), so translating that into six or so languages would have taken yonks. The same is likely to be true with Brawl. MKWii, on the other hand, is likely to have remarkably little text in, so the translation shouldn't take long at all.
MKWii has every right to be brilliant (Bosker, you're WRONG), and I don't see why we shouldn't see it soon after the Japanese release.
I don't think this release date is that unlikely. It would indicate a Nintendo that are committed to worldwide online play, which they've been criticised for the lack of, in the past. I'd like to see it happen. I think we might.
Please dont f**k it up like the Gamecube version which didnt even have a jump, get close to the Snes glory days and we will all be happy. Please
You do realise it will look just like the gamecube version (same machine) except the controls will be modified so your gran can play it.And why do people criticise designers for churning out sequels then go and buy friggin mario kart for the umpteenth time.
this is stupid people are saying that mario kart wont have a release so close to japan. just look at SMG bout 2weeks in between japanese and UK release
just seen those shots from famitsu, it made me really impressed, looks f**king pretty and a half, bright and colourful. Seeing the shot of the deathmatch made me juice slightly, i love the fact that you can do stunts and that all the riders use a bike and an automobile, seems like it's gonna remain old school with some bare nasty new school s**t to compliment it. Rock on.
