An online multiplayer demo of Capcom's frosty shooter Lost Planet has just appeared on PSN - but only if you're Japanese.
You can get at the demo, which allows for 8 player deathmatch rather than the full game's 16, by changing your PSN region and other sneaky methods of getting at juicy Far Eastern content.
The PS3 version is set to feature all the downloadable content and bonus characters from the year-old Xbox 360 version, plus via the magic of PSN you can of course play online without having to pay a penny. Nice.
A lot of 360 will be saying that in the same way ps3 owners will say the same about metal gear solid 4 if it actually ever makes it on to the 360
If the demo was to appear on the psn outside of japan you would have to wait for the weekley Thursday update - could yet be added to the us or uk today (or next week)
The PS3 version might be late but it's being released at a budget price (£29.99 RRP, £24.99 if bought online) and includes all the DLC from the 360 version and the extra stuff from the PC version. You can't really complain at that. I never bought the 360 version but I've pre-ordered the PS3 version from GAME because it's tantalisingly cheap. I'll check the Japanese demo out later I think...
GREAT!!!....a year old game to play.... i thought when i got my PS3, i'd have tons of things to look at & download, but sadly that's not the case. There's more film trailers than game trailers on the PSN!!, which says a lot! about the PS3 & Sony at the moment.... This better be a good year for the PS3, or its gonna remain a cheap Blu-ray player.
Well it *is* a damn good BD player, you have to admit?
You do realise that you don't *have* to buy the game don't you... it's not like there won't be any other games to buy on the PS3 this year! Lost Planet has been priced as a budget game so you should view it as such not dismiss it just because it was out on a rival format a year ago. Apparently Xbox 360 owners won't be able to buy Unreal Tournament III until later on this year but it's been available on the PS3 since last December (if you import it as I did: it's out in the UK at the end of this month). I'd hope that they don't turn their noses up at this quality game just because it was out on the PS3 first!

No, but i'll wait to get UT3 on the 360, (Live is way better & achievements) I want something to come out thats a PS3 exclusive & is worth getting excited about!?, so far i'm struggling to find a reason to turn it on!.....other than to watch a film....
hollywood111. You are always on these forums moaning aboyt your ps3. boring. there are loads of games to play on the ps3, stop moaning.
But there isnt really?, considering how long its been out?, if i'd just bought my 360, i'd have tons of games to buy. Plus a moutain of demo's to download trailers to watch, i'm seriously shocked how little (right now) there is to be excited about?... sorry.

Sounds to me like the problem isn't that the PS3 doesn't have any games, it's that you own both it and the Xbox 360. 85% of a console's games tend to be multiformat, it's the same for the 360 and the PS3, so because the 360 has been out longer, you're more likely to have played games like Lost Planet on the 360. For people with a PS3-only the system is fine and many will only be able to play games like Lost Planet for the first time so they won't be complaining about it being an old 360 title.
I own all three current consoles but the 360 is by far my most used machine for games but that doesn't mean I regret buying a Wii or PS3. If you own more than one console then it's inevitable that one platform will be used more than the other(s) due to you buying multiformat games for it as well. Last generation the Xbox not the PS2 or GameCube was my main console but, again, I didn't once lament the fact I bought the others.
There's little in the way of exclusives due on either machine at the moment, games like The Club, Burnout Paradise and Devil May Cry 4 are on both formats. Why not buy the PS3 version rather than the 360 for a change; that's what I've been doing (bought Burnout Paradise and DMC4 for my PS3)?
And if you're unhappy with your PS3 then why not sell it and use the proceeds to buy Xbox 360 games with?

Yer, your right, i was thinking of doing that with DMC4, getting it for the PS3, but I'd still prefer, if I'm honest, to get it for the 360. I have bought the PS3 for MGS4 & KZ2, & i don't see me using it much in between now & then, I'm not ragging the PS3 as a console, i like it, i think its a solid bit of kit, i just wished there was a real killer title i was rushing out to get. (that i cant get for my 360) I would buy URT3 4 it but again, that will be better on Live & i have friends who might get it.
Hopefully PS3 owners will learn from the mistakes of 360 owners and not buy this s**t game.
Exactly. 360 owners only bought this at the time because of the great graphics and to show support to Capcom for their 360 support. If they also do some research, they will see this game suffers from the usual 360 to PS3 port issues, aka choppy framerate, lesser textures etc... My advice to PS3 owners is to save their cash for when a decent game comes along.

UT3 is a damn good game my man, i imported it as well for my ps3, but, as soon as it comes out for the 360 (28/03/200 i wont turn my nose up at it at all, its a good game, i shall be buying it on the 360 as well purely because the online matchmaking will be better i think as this is generally the trend i find with multi-platform games, you have to admit that the lag can be horrendous on occasions on psn for this game....
i have had my PS3 since UK launch and have never been bored of it, and now i have got Burnout it is even better with GH3 and COD4
But 360 owners will be saying boring we had it agggges agobla bla bla that may be true, but when is it you are getting UT3??
eh, eh??
28/03/2008 UT3 is scheduled on 360 for release, one month after the ps3 uk release, but i own it already for my ps3 as i imported it, really good game, but ill get it for my 360 as well when it comes out as i know it will be better online on xbox live....until then tho im real happy with my ps3 version of this, awesome game if you're into online shooters, cant recommend it enough!!!

That 360 release date is a load of rubbish - expect it in at least 6 months and that will probably only be in the states.
By the way the Lost Planet demo is on the us store if you want it in English.
