Hollywood rips off the The Club box art?

Sega's The Club and upcoming Keanu Reeves movie Street Kings share almost identical imagery
We remember something like this happening not too long ago with EA's Burnout Paradise and an old record sleeve. But another image 'coincidence' has been brought to our attention thanks to CVG reader 'socheeky'.

He (or maybe it's a she?) spotted a movie poster for the flick coming out in the US this April "with Keanu Reeves, several rappers and Hugh Laurie". As you can see from a quick bit of photoshop trickery, they look pretty much the same. Take a look on your right.

So which one came first? The Club's been on sale for a few now and Street Kings isn't anywhere near a release. Hollywood copying Sega? That's something for the designer's CV.

You only have to browse DeviantArt to see that sort of artwork has been popular for years now. Both are unoriginal pieces.

And they both ripped off that Gnarls Barckley video.

Exactly, I'm a Graphic Designer myself and I ahve to say similar designs is nothing worth getting excited about.

I don't know if the person who created the box for Kane and Lynch created the box for Max Payne 2 but they look very similar in style.

Both are nice designs but The Club feels more well layed out - wouldn't surprise me if they were the same designer. Nice to see people trying something different.
