CVG can confirm that the Overlord series, a Pikmin-influenced management adventure previously only on 360 and PC, will be making its debut on PS3 this summer with Overlord: Raising Hell.
Raising Hell will feature the full Overlord game that released on 360 last year, as well as all of the download content that has been released to date, all on one Blu-ray disc.
You play as supposedly the most evil being on the planet - who needs some little Gremlin-like dudes, called Minions, to help him out.
Clearly not a plot to be taken too seriously, command your Minions in gameplay uncannily similar to Nintendo's Pikmin games, with Minions in different colours each one with different weaknesses and abilities.
"Use the Minions tactically and they'll always be on hand, ready to sacrifice themselves just to save the Overlord's illustrious arse", says Codemasters.
"Summer" is as specific a release date as Codemasters offers at the moment. First exclusive PS3 screens are below.
good game but seriously,i bought the game for the 360 in July i think and finished it two weeks later..so that was what,6-7 months ago...i hope CM aint gonna charge full price for the ps3 version...i see it as a bit of an insult that the ps3 are getting all the 360 games now 6-12 months later,PS3 can do better than this...but then again, who am i to talk,i am buying Bully for the 360 next month when i have already finished it on the ps2
You're seeing these sort of 360 games go to PS3 because it now has a worthwhile user-base and its a great way to milk more cash from what is now a dead cow on 360. I'd suggest PS3 owners don't pick this up for more than Ł30. Its a decent game but nothing special. Sadly it was over-hyped with the whole Dungeon Keeper/Pikmin comparisons...

I played the PC demo and I seemed like far too much of a nice guy to be an evil overlord. Within five minutes someone was cheering because I'd destroyed his barn in the process of saving him from a bunch of Hobbits, and by the end of the level I'd ended up saving an entire village. It was entertaining enough though so I might pick it up cheap if I see it around once the PS3 version is released.
