Fans of Mistwalker's Xbox 360 RPG Lost Odyssey (of those of you who plan to be fans - it's not out in Europe until tomorrow) will be pleased to hear the first rumblings of a sequel, which span from a Japanese report on site Nikkei Trendy.net.
According to the site, Microsoft has been quoted as saying that it's happy with the Blue Dragon follow-up's 100k sales in the Far East and that "the series will grow as time goes on." Microsoft's still looking for its Final Fantasy, then.
Lost Odyssey is the second Xbox 360 exclusive RPG from Final Fantasy man Hironobu Sakaguchi. So far the game's been getting a pretty decent reception, but don't take our word for it; read the review here.
Brilliant, great news. I haven't even played the first one yet but i'm absolutely delighted with this news. I want lots more of this kind of game on the 360.
Utterly fantastic news. Just hit the 3rd disc last night and this game just keeps getting better and better. The story is ruddy great and, for once, does not involve confused teenagers with an attitude problem.
JRPGs still have a great following (despite there marmite nature) and its nice to see Msoft responding to this.
Lost Odyssey is an amazing game. Best JRPG I've played in 10 years (since FF7). Glad they are working on a sequel.
As for as PC getting it, wonder why MS keeps sending our 360 hand-me-downs to the PC (usually a year later). The PC fanboys just reward them by pirating and stealing the games. Wise up, MS. The 360 is making you money now, so stop insulting the 360 gamers by sending our exclusives to the PC.
My copy just arrived in the post this morning. Not gonna play it until tomorrow though as thats when my 37"1080p HDTV arrives Great news about a sequel though, i can tell i will love this game.
