Namco has given the first details on what we reckon is the first Wii Balance Board game that isn't being made by Nintendo. It's a home version of Japanese skiing game Family Ski, re-dubbed We Ski. Not to be confused with Wii Ski, which could be mistaken as an official Nintendo title.
As we reported last week, rumours that a Namco Balance Board game was in development had all but been confirmed by a TV Spot for Family Ski containing some hot Balance Board action. Take a look here if you must.
The game will offer up to four players more than a dozen slopes to ski down, by using either the Wii Remote or the Balance Board. Mii support is also included, which explains why the screenshots look a little different to the Japanese TV Spot.
As well as skiing, there's also a mountain to explore, complete with a ski school, freestyle skiing, moguls and slaloms, photography and other events. According to Namco, players can even ski at night whilst enjoying a firework display.
We wonder whether the night and day clock will match up with the internal Wii clock ala Animal Crossing. Now that would be cool.
As my family and I are are all avid skiers (and off again to the slopes in 8 days and counting) i cant wait for this. the graphics look ok'ish but what worries me the most is the split screen four player mode. from what i understand the board and wii fit is going to set me back 70 odd quid. £280 quid to play a four player boarding game. common nintendo, what are you thinking i'm not spending £280 quid to sit on my bottom all day like the boarders do
The Arcade game by Namco "Alpine Racer" was a lot of fun. We used to have it in our local bar. This could be a right laugh if done properly... Fingers crossed.
