Spanish dev working on "major" Konami title

Mercury Steam is working on a new super-secret Xbox 360 and PS3 title with Konami
Tokyo-based Metal Gear house Konami is expanding its European efforts with the partnership with Mercury Steam, which is creating an unannounced title under the supervision of Konami's European Development team.

Konami said in a statement that the game will be a "major part of Konami's 2009-2010 line-up."

"With the development of New International Track and Field coming to an end, it is fitting that we are ready to announce this significant addition to our European Development roster," said Dave Cox, head of product planning for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH.

"Mercury Steam is an exciting and very talented group, and their plans for the first Europe-grown title for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are both ambitious and ground-breaking. We look forward to unveiling full details of this stunning title further down its development cycle."

Nah, have faith. IMO Konami are a great company, dilligent and gamers themselves too. Ive read a lot of articles over a great many years on Konami and thier ilk. I think this could be a totally new game/franchise, and though this is a very early report, ive got faith that in the next six-ish months this'll start to turn into waaaay more exciting news.
I hope Embarassed

I agree, I love Konami - they've been responsible for a lot of my very favourite games over the yearts. This could be very interesting indeed...

....it won't be Pro Evo 2009, though....that's already in development with Seabass and his team, has been since before 2008 was released...

This looks very interesting and an Interesting Dev. It looks like it will be a completely new IP too.

Konami would never lower their standards to produce something as dire as Pro street PES, BTW Rolling Eyes
