WH40K: Dawn of War 2 reveal imminent?

Massive hint dropped in PC Gamer's latest issue
Judging by a Next Month page in the latest issue of PC Gamer (UK), which is now in the hands of subscribers, THQ is soon to unveil Warhammer: 40,000: Dawn of War 2.

The advert, which you can see on the left and is bigging up the magazine's April 10 issue, features a silhouette of what's surely a character from the WH40K universe accompanied by the teasing words "Are you ready for a new dawn?"

THQ was unavailable for comment at the time of writing, but a Dawn of War 2 reveal looks a dead cert.

PC Gamer UK is of course one of CVG's brothers in arms. But would they tell us more? It's a sad day when mag journos give us a "no comment" just like every publisher does. We'll just have to wait and see then...

could it not be just a review of the new expansion or something? seems a bit too close to the expansions release to announce this..
dremorack on 12 Mar '08
Nah they wouldnt say exclusive secret etc if it was just a review on Soulstorm, I can't wait Smile.
Sgt_Stu on 12 Mar '08
spot-on with the silhouette, methinks! Very Happy

I can't wait. I'm still hooked on the original (and its numerous expansions), and if they manage to recapture that same level of glorious carnage and fast-paced strategy and do nothing else I'll be happy.

I'm still waiting for a new Warhammer 40k FPS. Wink

This will be the reason why they handed soulstorm over to Iron Lore. As they didnt want to take a step backwards, as it were, when they are focused on a full sequel.

About f*cking time! Add on packs are ok but I want a full blown game not a add on! IMO DoW is one the best RTS games ever made. Can not wait for more info on this!

Nope, the new expansion is reviewed in the current issue. By some awesome guy called Tom Francis.
Pentadact on 12 Mar '08
Tom Francis?

What a badass.
I got Soulstorm yesterday, not entirely convinced the two new races are as strong as any of the previous ones tbh, but it's a worthy expansion.

I kinda wonder what DoW 2 could add. Perhaps CoH style cover? An amazing "drop into the action" mode? Those goddamn 'nids as they're so affectionately known? Or just improved graphics?
gothchild on 12 Mar '08
nids would be awesome.

a travel into the warp, space battles (maybe would be awesome...though it may ruin it)

titans mode.

It's this nameless marine from the Crimson Fists, I doubt it's an actual full fledged character.

Though I doubt this has any relevance to the game, unless Relic are switching their focus away from the Blood Ravens. I think it far more likely PCG just borrowed the image straight from the Games Workshop site, and the reason it's a silhouette is a Games Workshop IP thing.

Oh.
freds1 on 16 Mar '08
Could it be a preview of the Wh40k MMO set for 2009? I Know it's a bit early, but i've got an issue of PC Gamer from 2006 with S.T.A.L.K.E.R on the front
