As the PSOne games on PSN drought continues on this side of the planet, Japan's Famitsu magazine has revealed that the original Metal Gear Solid will be hitting the PSN in spring for play on PS3 and PSP.
MGS was, in case you lived in the Himalayas at the time, one of the best games on the PSone - a platform-defining title upon which the whole modern MGS craze was built. Its arrival on the PSN would be sweet as f***.
But there is, unsurprisingly, no mention of the game coming to the UK PSN Store. We're badgering Sony UK as we type...

I was clearing through my old games yesterday (cos I'm moving house this week) and oddly enough I had 2 full boxed copies of MGS. I say it is odd because I was never a big fan of the game. Suffice to say they went in the "throw away" pile.

even that i am a MGS fan, im not bothered if it ever come to the UK Store, or will be downloading it as i have 2 original copies, 1 normal and 1 platium, i got the second one (the standard version) pre-owned and because my old original PS2 started to stop working and scratched my original MGS to hell, now it only play the 1st cut scene and then freezes, so i got a replacement, and hopefully i can get my platium edition fixed

How did people miss this game? It probably my favourite game ever, and definatly my favourite in the MGS series. I'd reccomend it to anyone, even if you hate the stealth genre, it changed my gaming perspective and not much has come close to it.
The one bastad game i might actually buy off the Psn is on the japanese store, i would buy it off the Jap store but it may aswell as be in hiroaglephics (sorry about spelling) for all it matters.

you dont need to PSN version, just use your disk version, it works, just tried it myself, just put your PS3 in remote play, put your MGS disk in, connect your psp as normal, and there you go, it started the game automatically instead showing the XMB. although with this you wont be able to transfer the game to your psp's memory stick and play the game away from home unlike PSN versions
My only question is: how will people who purchase it on the PSN be able to find out Meryl's CODEC frequency?*

Yer i still keep my gamecube for twin snakes, in my opinon its probably the best metal gear game there is!, now if that was coming to the PSN it would be a diffrent thing..... & a better news story.... i'll let this one go, unless its about 3 quid.

Oh yeah! lol! As far as I know, you can't change the controller position on the PS3's wireless SIXAXIS. So you would actually be forced to buy a second controller in order to beat Pyscho Mantis.
