Ubisoft has told CVG that the official stance on Haze remains that it's exclusive to PS3 "for now", in response to recent reports that the FPS will never come to 360.
Stories on the 'net today report that unnamed Ubisoft spokespersons attending the Play.com Live event in Wembley Stadium, London, over the weekend confirmed that the nectar-fuelled shooter will only ever appear on PS3.
But Ubisoft has told us that the game is "exclusive on PS3 for now". The "for now" part is what leads to 'timed exclusive' speculation.
It was originally expected for PS3, 360 and PC, but later shifted to lead on PS3, with other formats thought to follow. Ubisoft has never outright confirmed that it will be a permanent PS3 exclusive.
Maybe it's waiting to see how well it does on Sony's console first.
If you watch the developer diary u can clearlly see 360s running alongside ps3s whilst they are working on the game, duno if this means anything meaningful but it does add to the idea that its a timed exclusive
Probably does, the Mercs 2 devs had 360's in their blogs to signal that it would be on Xbox before it was officially announced. I was suprised to hear that it wouldn't be on 360, so now it sounds more like when than if.
Always up for some more co-op over Live so I'll keep an eye on the game, wish they'd just hurry up with Timesplitters 4 though.

I played the complete version at play.com live as it's teh best fps I've played to date and the guy there did say it will remain an exclusive. Ubisoft's official line may be different but if the guys working on it say otherwise it gives teh impression they're not working on it.
haha this has gone from PS3 EXCLUSIVE!! to PS3...for now, in a matter of days!... i remember seeing early versions of this game running on the 360 so its deffo coming i have no doubts about that,....only problem is...do i give a toss about another guy in a space suit with a gun game?...i'll wait for reviews & if they are good, i'll wait for the 360 version.... but by then i'd probably lost intrest.

Would it also happen to be the first FPS you've ever played? From everything I've seen and everything people have said with hands-on previews, it's never been much of a contender when put up against other FPS games.
Also, you need to understand that developers have no say in the matter. The publisher decides and their decision is final. The developers cant say 'we dont want to' - thats not how it works. So you can basically ignore anything the developers say about what platform its going to.
Plus dont forget Ubi did the same thing with Assassins Creed. Started out multi, went quiet about all other platforms and only talked about PS3, people thought it was exclusive, Ubi didnt deny or confirm it, and then it went multi again.
Firstly yes I've played loads from Halo to Call of Duty to Timesplitters and I played the final version which has been give its certifcate ready for release not a "preview" version.
Secondly I wasn't saying that the developers get a say but saying that they are clearly not working on a 360 version at the moment if they are saying its not coming out.

Also ubisoft doesn't decide this as they don't make it themselves they just distribute it, Free Radical do so it's up to them

You seemed to get an unhealthy amount of pleasure out of this. Just thought you sounded, dare I say it, a bit fanboyish there, mi-laddie. I thought your ideal was to be a well rounded character on these forums?

Seeing as the previews in Games TM (and possibly Edge, can't remember) around 6-8 months ago were of a near complete build on 360 I think it's safe to say this will grace the 360 sometime down the line.
Or perhaps the devs spent time, money and resources on a 360 version for fun? Time will tell.

to be honest i never had any interest in the game to start with. think that pic of the f***y holding the vial of nectar that was on nearly every mag cover put me right off. just looks like halo without the aliens to me. and i went right off that when the 3rd one came out.

It might as well be exclusive, as noone on any other console will CARE by the time it comes out on PS3, and since it took SO long to release on PS3, imagine how long it'll take to do on 360?!
Personally I think it should stay exclusive on PS3 as it has more of a chance of making money. I can't move for all the shooters on Xbox especially as Halo and COD have the market pretty much sewn up.

Agreed, I feel the same about this as I do Little Big Planet... when I first saw them its was all WOW's and the like, but as time drags on and the release dates gets put back time after time you start to notice that the game isn't really all its cracked up to be, and in fact looks quite plain.
Considering this was muted for release at the same time as Halo 3 its just taken way too long to arrive.
all the footage ive seen has been cr*p so it really matters not whether its going to 360 or not. i think it will go to 360 as they'll try and recoup some of the money they'll lose on it as there'll be few sales on ps3

My shot, I'm taking, is not at either console but more at the developer?, i dont like it when they dangle games in front of gamers then whip them away, "ohh no sorry its a PS3 exclusive now", "ohh well it might come to the 360?".....F**k 'em stick there game, if its a PS3 exclusive fine, thats cool, but stop baiting people & f**king get on with it, sorry if my original post sounded fanboyish, wasnt my intention.
is this how Ubisoft intends to maintain public interest in this game, by being wishy-washy about its exclusivity? initially i was optimistic about Haze, but after reading some medicore previews, coupled with better looking shooters like GOW 2 and Resistance 2, my interest has waned significantly.

Haze is a drug that the Mantell troops (MT's) are administered to fight the rebels. The MT's believe that the drug just gives them added abilities in the fight, oblivious to the fact that it also stops them from seeing the horrors of war, i.e, dead bodies.
The MT's can also overdose on the drug if used too much. The rebels use this to their advantage by making grenades using the drug and shooting the packs on the MT's suits.
Although the Rebels have little technology, they use their cunning (such as above) to their advantage.
Therefore, multiplayer match-ups will be MT's v Rebels. Thus, making matches a lot more strategical and varied. You also get to play as both sides in the game as you turn your back on the MT's partway through the game and fight for the rebels.
Does'nt sound run-of-the-mill to me. However, let's wait for the reviews before we cast too many opinions.
Also, it is Free Radical we are talking about here. People are quick to forget how good these guys are at developing FPS games. Goldeneye and Timesplitters. Both class games.
Looks pretty awesome, from what i've seen and heard. The four-man co-op should be cool and I can't wait to try the multiplayer. The multiplayer looks very interesting with the whole nectar aspect to the game. I'll definitely be getting it, once its released.

I'm starting to think the same. Well, i think it looks good, and one i'll buy unless it comes out right next to other releases (such as Civilization Revolutions etc.) but there has been so much hype around this it will never live up to standards. I'm only buying it for co-op and i loved TimeSplitters. And with the delay nobody gives a crap about this anyway-it would have sold well if it was released November.
