Capcom buys Tenchu studio

That did outsourced work on Lost Planet
Capcom has handed over cash for Tenchu developer K2 studios, which created the most recent, strictly average Xbox 360 offering Tenchu Z as well as Valhalla Knights.

The ninja series probably has less to do with the purchase though than K2's outsourced work on Lost Planet. The acquisition was made via an exchange of stock which is expected to be completed on May 1.

Capcom says the move is aimed at making the company's "game development activities more efficient and speedy," and that it will also help increase the value of the group as a whole.

Hopefully we'll be seeing an awesome Tenchu game down the line then, but more likely the deal will simply result in K2 doing the dull technical work for future Capcom releases.

Article is confusing, did Tenchu handle all versions of Lost Planet or subsequent versions after the 360?

Let's hope it's going to do a great tenchu game.

The Tenchu Series was one of my favourites on PS1 and the Wrath of heaven game on PS2 was probably the best they ever did, the only thing that let it down was the graphics, and camera.. otherwise it was a great game, and on PS1 was a much more enjoyable stealth game than the Original Metal gear solid, It's a shame it got worse and worse as it went along. I hope with all the technology Capcom has at it's disposal, they can make a next gen version to win the fans back
