The much anticipated Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack has been delayed by one week to April 10, claim internet reports.
The shooter's first piece of downloadable content was originally drafted for release this Thursday, April 3, and the last we heard it was going through Microsoft's sometimes lengthy submission process - so maybe that's the problem. Although we played them last Friday and they were all well and good.
The 800 Microsoft Point pack (about six English pounds) supplies four new maps - Creek, Killhouse, Chinatown and Broadcast. Some, like Broadcast are based on single-player locations, where as Chinatown (unless we've missed something great) is a totally new Asian environment for getting your frag on.
We've not been able to get through to Activision yet - and it is April Fool's - so we'll have to keep you posted on this one. Look for our own report on teh new map pack soon.
Does anybody else think the £6 is a bit too much for four maps? I wish that one day new maps will be free like with UT3...
Yeah, so many people complained about the price of GT5, but I bet a good portion of those people are willing to pay the £6.00 for these maps! Ludicrous.
That is not to say I am complaining about the price myself. If you want something, then you pay for it. Simple as that.
i personally think 6 quid for the amount of time it takes to programme these maps is a bargain. it will also add new life to the game online. cant wait.
£6 is way too much when you can buy the WHOLE GAME for £40 or less.
For you maths fans out there, that's 15% of the price of COD4 itself - including single player game and multiplayer with a shed-load of maps - but you only get 4 new maps (one of which I hear is a bit of a token gesture anyway).
New life? yes. £6-worth of new life? no.
Having said that, I'm far more tempted this time than I was to buy the Halo 3 maps...

I agree. £6 for a map pack is fine but I want more than 4 maps.
6 quid, its a couple of pints down the pub!..... or 8 cans of fosters at my local off license.... now you come to mention it, those maps should be free damn you!!!!...
