The teasiest of teasing hints from Camelot Software Planning has raised hopes that the Golden Sun developer is planning a new game in the RPG series.
"Honestly, just like your readers saying that they want to see a new Golden Sun, a new tennis game, a new Shining Force, well, everyone in Camelot feels the same way - we really want to get these games out for you guys", heads of the Japanese studio Hiroyuki and Shugo Takahashi said in interview with IGN, dangling a carrot.
Inviting further speculation, the pair confirmed that the developer is currently in the planning stages of "doing something interesting", suggesting that whatever this is it's an RPG for DS or Wii.
"We hope that you will be looking forward to our future game", they added. "We ourselves are looking forward to the next Camelot RPG as well, just like you."
Golden Sun and sequel Golden Sun: The Lost Age released on GBA critical acclaim.
Golden Sun was the best RPG ever created. End of. It smashed final fantasy hands down...or should I say "the blade lets out a howl-"....
But anyway, the graphics were awesome, the gameplay addictive and fluid and the length was impressive for a gameboy advance game. I always wished that the next pokemon game would have golden sun style graphics, the battles just looked so much cooler, with all the insane powers and the characters jumping around everywhere.
For the next one (which better be on DS) I hope they update the graphics to some decent 3d stuff (n64 should be a guideline), have the view behind the character (a la mario 64) and obviously have some good touch screen controls...

I agree totally its very rare to get such a complete RPG that totally rocks, I played it hands down. I'm enjoying FFCC at the moment but id give my left arm for a new GS. It doesn't even need to be the same charcaters or story just the same development team they achieved a stroke of genius with them games. The Djinn were brilliant. I can't speak highly enough of the games they were without doubt the greatest handheld games on GBA, possibly even better than most DS games & a totally refreshing new IP.
