Codemasters Emergency Mayhem is set to hit European shelves on April 18, but you can already get a glimpse by taking a look at the new trailer.
Originally to be developed by Acclaim for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, Emergency Mayhem has gone through several iterations as the property has changed hands over the years.

Okay the jokes over, even the Dreamcast could have handled that for f**ks sake will someone slap lazy code masters for me this is getting beyond the joke now third party games apart from a select few have been nothing but stupid and lazy attempts to cash in and they wonder why there games don't sell!
I think I will stick to the games from Nintendo from now on they are the only ones that are taking the console seriously along with Capcom and Square, Atari and maybe EA and Sega but even they have some shoddy games out at the moment and they are meant to be world class developers!!!
This is a kids game, and for that it looks brilliant. Bright colours, everything is big and robust, nice clear, big interface, and the mini-games look alright.
With the torrent of kids that will be wanting GTA, this is a good alternative.
People can't go around saying 'I agree with the Byron report' if when a game comes out for kids we just slam it.
While I agree with you to a certain extent, you only have to look at the Wii's back catalogue already to see the vast number of child-friendly games it has. Okay, not many of them are free-roaming driving games, but it's not like there's a shortage of kiddie mini-games

Thats a bit like saying 'There are loads of FPS's on the PC, so dont bother releasing anymore'
Not really. If you have a unique idea or yours is particularly good, there's nothing stopping anyone releasing what they like.
But then I guess I'm looking at it from a grown-up point of view. I guess if I was 6 or 7 this might be a nice alternative. It's not a rip-off of the GTA mini-games, it's a kid-friendly homage

Whilst I agree Nintendo are the only company pushing to get the best out of the Wii, I think it's wrong to slam codemasters for being lazy developers. At least this a completely new game, like Crazy Taxi meets Warioware, and maybe it doesn't push the Wii in the graphics department, but that is the style they have chosen. Isn't it lazier to port a gamecube/PS2 game or an 8 year old arcade game? or lazier to release complete tosh like *cough* Jenga and My Horse and Me!
I'm sure codemasters will push the Wii at some stage, look at how amazing Race Driver: Create & Race and the upcoming GRID are on the humble DS, not only do they look impressive they have track editors, online gaming and other custom options.
