PreviousNew Fallout 3 screens leak onto the 'net Japan: PSP outsells all consoles combined  Next

Lost Odyssey DLC out this week

One new dungeon, one new item, one new boss... for Japan at least
The first details have emerged on Lost Odyssey's downloadable content, which will be arriving in the East this Thursday, April 10.

For 400 points (about three quid), Japanese Xbox 360 owners can get a new dungeon, a single rare item and a new boss character to battle at the end. Plenty of reason to be excited then if you've extinguished the 100,000 hours of gameplay already in there.

Going by Famitsu's word, it looks like the content is Japan only for now. But with some Xbox Live region trickery, us RPG fans in the West should be able to get at it.

Think i will just wait on it coming out here. (if it ever does, that is)

From what some of the other boards have mentioned, this content really would break the game (not unlike the free US content given to those that preordered the game.)

Supposedly the extra item gives the skill of 'zero casting cost' for magic...but with a 999 SP cost per Immortal, it's not worth it unless you're starting out anew and you want to break the game.

Regardless, glad to see there's DLC for this game--this title is excellent, and it's honestly the best next-gen JRPG out there...and hell, it's easily better than any of the Final Fantasy titles on the PS2/PSX...though I'd say Persona and Shadow Hearts is likely better.

Hmm... regarding 'breaking the game', I got to a stage on the third disc where I never, ever ran out of MP with my magic-casters, so while I can't see the benefit of this, I also can't see it being an issue gameplay-wise.

What does bug me is... Is one new dungeon and boss enough to make me replay 70-odd hours of game? Nope. Why not release one big, worthwhile update that makes it worth restarting again instead of silly little add-ons like this?

Meh. I'll wait until four or five downloads come out before I pick this game up again.

Then it's your loss. The game has been selling steady here in the States, and it wouldn't be if it weren't good (read: Enchanted Arms).
