Development has finished on the Variety Map pack for the PS3 version of Call of Duty 4 and it's in certification with Sony as we speak.
As Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling reveals: "The Variety Map Pack DLC and patch required to add the maps to the game went to Certification at Sony last night."
The four new maps in the pack arrived on Xbox Live Martketplace last Friday, while PS3 owners still await a release date announcement. But that should be any moment now, says Bowling.
"We're shooting for a worldwide simultaneous release, so all users can expect to have it at the same general time frame when it finishes certification. We're working to see if we can secure a firm release date to pass along to you guys now," he said.
IW programmer Jon Shiring told usthat the new maps should hit PS3 "around three weeks later" than the 360, so we'll hopefully be running around a PS3-generated version of the awesome Creek map before April's out.
If you haven't already, see high-res screens and get the lowdown on the four new maps in our huge hands-on write up.
Surely they wont be out for another 2 weeks, sony did say that no updates were going to happen until after the new store launch.
Sony said there won't be an update until the new store is launced, which is next week if I'm not mistaken. So there should be an update next week, which will hopefully include the map pack.
