A new PS3 Grand Theft Auto IV bundle will be launched alongside the standalone game on 29 April according to a retailer in Germany.
German retailer Webhallen lists the bundle for release on the same day as the game, although neither Rockstar or Sony have officially confirmed the existence of such a package.
As you can see though, that high-res pack shot looks pretty 'official'. If it mysteriously disappears over the next hour then chances are it's right on money, but someone posted it too soon.
Webhallen lists the GTA bundle for the same price as the Gran Turismo bundle, which was £300. If a GTA bundle does exist then expect to pay the same.
Oddly there's been no mention of a 360 bundle, allowing us to strongly speculate that this particular deal might be a PS3 exclusive (for a certain period of time, anyway). Well, 360 has got first dibs on downloadable content...

Yeah, but the Elite is a big, noisy, no wi-fi, no blu-ray, knockin' on heavens door kind of a machine. For £40.00 more you have the shiney, reliable and future-proof PS3.

No such thing as future proof, and my PS3 is actually bigger than my Elite. The Elite is noisier though
A lack of blu-ray etc doesn't seem to have held back the Wii, so I'm not convinced of that as a determining factor. As for GTA, I've got both consoles but I will be getting this for the 360. I want the option of extra content (even if I never use it), and I hate the PS3 controllers
Not expensive, but the PS3 forces you into having stuff you don't want. I have no desire for wi-fi for example, but have no choice with the PS3. Also the PS3 online service may be free compared to live, but Live is so much better that I have no objections to paying for the service. The PS3 online stuff is a joke to be honest, and I've just found it incredibly frustrating, laggy, and generally unreliable.

Yup, in 50 years time, everyone in the planet will have a PS3, and we'll all live in some Bill and Ted-ian utopia, joyous in the peace that the Playstation 3 brought to the planet.
Alternatively, Sony will have a PS4 on the shelves in ~7 years time, just like everyone else will have their next-next gen equivalent.
i think GTA will be more of a ps3 seller than 360, anyone who wanted a 360 will have one cause of the low price. but GTA will prompt ps2 users waiting for a good enough reason to upgrade, to do so (and i think there are many people like that) - cause lets face it, theres nobody with a xbox1 waiting to upgrade to a 360 is there?!
Why would ps2 owners 'upgrade' to a ps3 and not a 360? You have to remember that most gamers don't have as much brand loyalty as you do.

I'm sure most PS2 owners are wanting to upgrade to PS3. I think GTA4 is the time for them to upgrade.
I'm no fanboy but positive stories that relate to something that helps the PS3 sell don't half bring out the 360 fanboys. We need to except it people, Playstation is a better brand name. I think my 360 is a good machine but lets face it, it is built like s**te and that has an effect on sales. Europe loves Sony, so get over it.
Great news for people thinking about getting a PS3. Not a bad price for a PS3 and one of the biggest games of the year. No doubt the 360 will have the same sort of deal somewhere down the line.
The PS3 is undoubtedly a massive global brand now, and Sony's decision to continue sponsorship of the Champion's League, although expensive, gives the system exposure to literally billions of armchair fans!
The move to create a special "limited edition" GTA pack makes massive sense what with the TV, press and word-of-mouth coverage that's bound to happen prior to release...Microsoft need to follow suit sooner rather than later!

whats funny is if this is true, it'll probably help PS3 sales more than the $55 Million DLC will help 360 sales. retailers will advertise the heck out this bundle, because it will generate them more money. they have absolutely no incentive to advertise 360's exclusive downloadable content. guess time will tell if i'm right.

and it also has very few exclusive games that are worth buying
I'm sure they will probably both sell extremely well.
I've preordered mine on PS3 (sorry 360 chaps, I've less chance of getting 3 red rings before the end credits and there will be more racist & homophobic abuse online on XBox Live.)

You forgot to add in £40 for the game as well. So that still makes it cheaper to buy the PS3 version (non-rumbling control pad aside). Think you forgot to also say GTAIV plus hardware failure = massive disappointment??
As for the "its all about choice" argument (which is now as old as the "there are more games available" and "the online is better" arguments) with 360 you are absolutely screwed if you want to upgrade. You have to buy their peripherals for their ridiculous prices. I chose the PS3 as the natural successor to my PS2. I have upgraded the HDD and used all of its functionality so far and it has become the true media centre of my home and it plays games and Blu Rays as well. I would never and have never considered the 360 simply because of the Microsoft name. Too many dodgy Programs and operating systems followed by extremely dodgy and often crippling upgrades and now dodgy hardware have put me off MS for life. I really don't think the 360 is value for what it is and the math simply shows it to me the mosgt expensive console on the market today.
On another note whats really pathetic is all the 360 fanboys making a beeline for any positive PS3 news just to slag it off. Go and check the 360 forums, all these names are on there having nice little discussion trolling to MS.
As for those who say they "own" a PS3 and still slag it off, do us a favour and ask Mummy and Daddy to put an add in the paper and sell it and then go and haunt the 360 forums only. But then again...you'll probably head to the Wii forums and claim to "own" one there and slag it off as well....Pathetic.
I am a bit of a fanboy I'll admit that. I think my PS3 is fabulous for what it is and I think that it has a bright future. I also own a PSP and a DS which are also excellent and when my children are old enough im going to get them a Wii. I'll then own ALL the best systems on the market.

£40 a month for XBox Live seems an incredible price for the abuse you have to endure, for the offended, M$ should be giving it gamers back in compensation.
Intresting link there. I've always felt that pre order campagins were a bit of a marketing ploy, in the end there was always plenty of copies to go around, from Sonic 2 to the present. However reading the MCV article it would seem that this is not the case with GTA. I know Ive said this before but there is that worry of how many under 14 year old hands will get there mitts on this game.
Also will the supermarkets be selling it cheaper than game and other specialists?

Dude its ok to be angry i feel your pain its not your fault that Microsoft got to r* 1st and bought the rights to the dlc(sony would have but they had there heads stuck up there own bottom) you can feel jealous its natural i would feel the same if i owned a glorified blu-ray player and not an awesome games machine like the 360 and at the end of the day dude you can take comfort in the fact that you will always be a TW@

Fanboyism much? Back on topic, I think this is a great move by Sony. MS would be stupid not to follow suit. As for which version of the game sells more, I think it'l be a close one but I think 360 will just steal it due to various reasons everyone is aware of.

Damn. Pwning idiot Sony fanzis with logic and numbers. Whowouldathunk?
And considering there are still rumors of a price drop before GTA 4 hits the states, I'm inclined to believe the same will hold true on this side of the pond. Right now, it would be:
Compare that to the only (and crappier) version of PS3 available in the US:
40GB: $459.98 + Tax
And unless Sony plans to discount the bundle by $50.00 US (which we all know they won't...) then it's a better deal to pick up a Pro. Add to that the superior gaming library on the 360, the superior online gaming service, the superior media capabilites of the 360 over the PS3 (especially if you're an iPod owner or you stream DivX), and yeah...the bundle ain't so hot.
And considering the 360 version will be the one that sells superior numbers version of the two, it's going to be the one with an online landscape that doesn't mimic the Sahara.
Seriously--you're doing yourself a disservice if you pick up the inferior PS3 version of the game, bottom line.

You're a noted MS fanboy, so all those words you strung together to form your point were meaningless. You may love the 360, fair enough, but to say people would be doing themselves a disservice by buying the ps3 version is laughable. People can make up their own minds, they don't need nor value the opinions of moany little gits like you. You constantly blather on about how fantastic Microsoft and their 360 are, all the while talking down their competition, I'm starting to wonder whether or not companies like MS, Sony and Nintendo actually have you fanboy morons on their payrolls.
I myself have done myself the "disservice" of buying a PS3 and pre-ordering GTAIV for it. I bought the system in October last year and havn't stopped gaming since, thanks to a decent release schedule(Assassins Creed<MULTI PLATFORM I KNOW>, Uncharted, PES2008 and GT5P to name but a few), I don't however enjoy the type of games that are prevalant on the 360 (FPS titles namely), so that amazing library of games is largely uninteresting to me. I also hate the idea of paying for online services, as for whether or not PSN is inferior to XBL, I have to come back to the fact that I dont have a lot of time to spend playing online with a bunch of bottomholes who do have a lot of time to do so, and thus make the experience pointless and devoid of enjoyment.
Put plainly, the 360 just doesn't suit my needs, and the PS3's wireless and web browser have made using the internet a doddle, as I no longer have to go into the computer room in my house to get on the net, it's at my finger tips and on my telly.
So in summary, people like me will probably get more out of the PS3, and others with different lifestyles may well prefer the 360 providing they are lucky and don't buy a faulty one. My point being that neither groups of people are going to consult you for advice on what they should buy, so enough with the 360 sales pitch already, we can make our own decisions.
