We actually phoned up to verify this one: Haze on PS3 is on Ubisoft's latest release schedule for a May 23 release. So it's definitely happening this time.
It's been a rocky ride. Just last month Ubisoft put out a May 22 release date before immediately pulling the date in a seeming moment of uncertainty.
This time it's for real though, we're assured by a Ubisoft rep, so you can jot it down in your diary and get the coins ready.
Just be a nice in-between for GTA4 and MGS4. I only want it to be a success for Free Radicals sake and not Sonys, seeing as it will eventually come out for 360. Give them the impetus to make the next Timesplitters quick sharp!
I wonder how many members the anti-haze campaign has? Scarey. I can't see what FR have done to deserve it, other than delay the game to make it better. What is sad is that most of these campaigners will buy the next Fifa! Weird.
I heard edge magazine have given this a fair amount of praise in the latest issue, seems it will be top game.
and it continues a solid run of games until MGS4, march had GT5, april has GTA, may has Haze, june has MGS4. I think E3 will have passed and we should have dates for the other sony exclusives.

Im slightly conmfused about that too. Its like they would have prefered a half finished game to come out earlier. & if it did they'd then complain about it being rushed & unfinished, telling devs they should have spent more time on it rather than releasing a buggy mess. Its because of this thinking that we get so many unfinished games released to be patched later so that they dont miss the hype.
It's still on my list and will tied me over nicely until Resistance 2; Killzone 2 has been far more delayed than Haze. Haze's one player played was good when I plated it at play.com live and I've read good reports about co-op and multiplayer. Still think the Free Radical name will sell a decent number.
There's nothing else out in May worth getting and I simply won't spent May only playing GTA4 i'll need something different to play. June will be busy though, Lego Indy, MGS4 and Bourne then is Force unleashed in July. There's a good mix of games there.

To be honest, I am usually more disappointed when the hyped games come out. I don't think Haze gathered that much hype to begin with, other than the fact it was a PS3 timed exclusive.
I only care that it is a good game, and from a few recent previews, that may be the case.
"Aww, look at all the Sony fanboys getting excited, do you want to shooty-wooty some little yellow faced gonks?"
...that would come across as MS-loving retardation. But if I had a genuine reason to criticise Haze (which I don't - FR have a great track record) then that would be fine.
I didn't realise this was a 360 title too - how long have Sony got exclusivity for?
If there is indeed a decent 4-player co-op campaign then this should do well even on the shooter-packed 360 (provided that they don't try to put the game out near Gears 2).
Wish they'd hurry up with the next 'Splitters though
I really do want to get excited about this game, but it does look very generic. I just want to see something in this game that makes me go 'WOW' instead of the same old images.
The only thing that I am clinging to is that it has great developer behind it.
Free Radical announced recently that they're not working on 360 or PC versions although Ubisoft could have done an EA as with Half life Orange Box and brough someone else in to do them but as it stands Haze is only coming to PS3.

I'd probably laugh, not take it personally and move on. Seeing as I didn't actually criticise GOW2 I do actually believe it will be an awesome game. Can't wait to see more of it. My mate has a 360 so I will no doubt play some GOW2 co-op at his house. But yes, I am a game lover, so if it turns out to be better than the first, I will no doubt buy (my third) another 360. Should be cheap as chips by then.

I think this is a deffo PS3 exclusive.
I think i'll pick it up later in the year it does look good & the online side sounds fun, but for me it doesnt have anything in it that i havent played before, i dont feel the deperate need to run out & get it.
I think the main reason why this lost interest and attracted so many "haters" is because when it first came out it looked generally interesting, but when they started showing gameplay footage of it a lot of people thought it just looked generic and uninspired.
I'm just waiting for some reviews, if it does turn out to be a good game then i will probably get it.

Which is probably the right answer (and exactly what most people do, including myself). I just questioned the wisdom of typing it in the first place because it distracts from discussions about the ACTUAL GAME!
Fair enough, hatchets buried. Do you know the timescale of the exclusivity deal for Haze?

No, sorry matey. They keep changing their stories all the time but I am sure it will come out before xmas. I think Haze started life on the 360 so it shouldn't take long to port. It may not be a massive game, but it should be a solid shooter. Problem is, by xmas you will no doubt be playing GOW2 and COD5!

From Jolt...
Though Ubisoft has been very reluctant to commit Haze's future to PlayStation 3, the supposed Xbox 360 and PC versions disappeared off the radar before Christmas, handing Sony's console a timed-exclusive shooter, if nothing else.
However, while statements from Ubisoft have conflicted each other - some suggesting an appearance on other formats is on the way, while others refusing to comment either way - Haze script writer Rob Yescombe has come forward with a definite answer.
"It’s a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Buy a PlayStation 3 and play it. I want it to be the reason people buy a PlayStation 3," he told Ripten.
"If by some magical wave of the wand that happens , I won’t be complaining. But we’re a PlayStation 3 exclusive. I find it so confusing that some people are so offended at the idea that it will be format exclusive. But it’s like people get angry about it. What are you angry about?"

Mmm. I suppose, in the end, there is no harm in owning 360 and PS3. The money side of it is a problem for most, me included. I couldn't afford to keep 2 machines, so I kept the PS3 for MGS4 and a few others. If I sort my finances out I may re-buy the 360 to play Fable2, GOW2 and others.
Sometimes I wonder if one system would be good but then these forums would be a bit boring!

Nahh, one console would be poo, competition is great for us gamers, we get a better product & price wars make things easier on the old pocket. I have nothing against the PS3 (i own one!?) but it just gets my back up when people think its faultless & the best thing gaming has ever seen!!...when it clearly isn't. but that's the same argument for another day. It is expensive having two console but with games Like MGS4 i just cant help it!! haha Curse you Hideo!. But if i didn't own a 360 (how that's possible i cant conceive) i'd deffo just get a cheap model & upgrade it slowly as i needed too.

The problem with quotes direct from the developers is that they're often under contract not to talk about other versions of the game for rival formats (part of the exclusivity deal and all that) otherwise Sony/MS comes along and kicks your ass in court.
There are more big games that end up multi-platform than not, especially if there's already been time invested in coding for those other platforms. Otherwise the developers are wasting money, something they obviously never want to do. More platforms = more money, (unless MS/Sony pay you $50m to keep it on one side of the fence). And as some others have pointed out, enthusiasm for Haze seems to have tailed off recently (for some reason?) and if it doesn't sell as well as expected on PS3 than the 360 version might come along sooner?
I reckon that one day even a joint MS/Sony platform could happen (the Xstation or PlayBox? - yep, that 2nd one is rubbish), although God only knows how much it would cost if there was no competition...
Your right about the one machine. Developers just wouldn't try as hard to impress, I suppose. I may be able to buy a 360 off a friend soon, so I'll hang on. No-one in their right minds wants to miss out on a good game, regardless of console preference!
Meh, whiners who complain about delays are a dime a dozen these days. Soooo glad I can expect to not see you people in MP for Haze. I'm so glad I preordered this back in June! w00t! April, May and June are completely booked for me!

At the end of the day we are all here for games, emotions might spill over at times *holds his hands up!* but it just goes to show how passionate we are about gaming & the experience.......god that sound's sad...haha...
Consoles will always come down to preference the probablem is that people find it hard to accept that other people can like something different. None of the consoles are anywhere near perfect so it comes down to what you prioritise more on a console

Very true, so expect to see it on the 360/PC/Wii/DS/PSP by June!!

True. I keep playing PS3 games on a friend's console and know I'll be lured into buying one once the right game comes along (might be MGS4 if Hideo lives up to the hype). Wasn't convinced to buy a 360 either until Gears of War came along (probably the first title to look truely 'next-gen' IMO).
Lots of people rave about Drake's Fortune and Ratchet on the PS3, but I struggle to enjoy kiddie/cartoon styling in games (love RPGs, but can't love Final Fantasy) so Ratchet is out, and I can't shake the 'not Tombraider' stigma that my mind has attached to Drake's fortune - although I haven't tried this one yet.
I seriously want a great excuse to buy a PS3 and get full benefit from my new telly with blu-ray movies, but finances and my love of FPS keep me glued to the 360 for the mo. (That and I still have my PS2 for God of War 2 fixes if I get twitchy).
I hope Sony nail E3 this year because GT5 leaves me quite cold and I was a bit disappointed by the 1st Killzone, so will have to wait for the reviews on Killzone 2
I hope Ubi have used the extra time to fix that awful frame rate. Although consistant, plus the fact that it 'looks' next-gen, I couldn't help but feel that it moves like an old PS2 FPS, like Killzone or Project Snowblind.

Hold on there mate, haven't you already got a 360? I remember you bangin' on about having 2 that red ringed, and then later you said you bought another? or maybe that was another Mark240473?

I sold my Elite to a buddy because I couldn't afford (the missus nearly killed me) it. I will get another, no doubt, when the missus isn't looking! She couldn't understand why I needed it, blah blah. Others on here will prbably have sympathy with my plight.
Wont be buying it myself, i already have enough to play and do and ive only just got back into COD 4 online. Would be a waste of time me buying it, especially as i dont think it looks much better than average-good.

I think this is the best description of Haze I've read - generic and uninspired. To compete in the overloaded FPS market, you need something exceptional.

i have sympathy with you, although i have em all
Stop showing off.
lol, sorry, im single at the mo so thats why i can get away with owning all 3, but i have been in your position of only being allowed one of them, i think most women have the "if you've got that one why do you need another one" syndrome. they just dont understand do they....
