PS3 CoD4 maps "taking longer than expected"

"The only thing we're waiting on now is official dates, all the logistics are essentially worked out."
The PS3 Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack is taking longer than expected, Infinity Ward has said, but is well on it's way to moving through Sony certification.

The map pack, which is already wracking up the Microsoft Points on Xbox Live, contains three maps; Chinatown, Creek and Broadcast.

"I was originally hoping we'd have all the details finalized for the upcoming launch of the Variety Map Pack on the PS3 by last week, but it's been taking a bit longer than expected," said community man Rob Bowling on his blog. "The only thing we're waiting on now is official dates, all the logistics are essentially worked out.

"I got word today that the Variety Map Pack for PS3 has went amazingly well through Certification at Sony and they plan on having it available on the brand spanking new PSN store in the coming weeks."

For PC owners, news isn't so positive: "I should also have some official news for you on the status of the potential map pack release on the PC along with the Community Map Contest news. So expect that news in the near future as well," Bowling says.

"Potential"?

The new store looks great and the CoD maps are superb (bought them for the 360 version). Pretty long wait for all the ps3 owners.

Don't want to sound pedantic, but there's actually 4 maps, C&VG Wink

I've been lovin' the new maps so far. At first I really liked Broadcast and Chinatown. But now I've gone off Chinatown abit, but still enjoying Broadcast. Now that I'm using my Stealth setup properly, I'm enjoying Creek too.

I haven't had a chance to play the other map (i.e the one map you haven't mentioned)... I don't even know what it's called!!!

Anyone else not played it yet?
