Namco-Bandai will release the forth title in the Soul Calibur series in the United States on July 29.
As well as looking absolutely delightful, Soul Calibur features both Darth Vader and Yoda as playable characters, with each being exclusive to one platform.
Those in the office without a PlayStation 3 are genuinely annoyed that we have to make do with a green muppet doing a Tasmanian Devil impression, instead of being able to control the toughest badass in the galaxy.
In Europe, Ubisoft will be distributing the title. We've dropped the publisher a line to see if there's any news on a European release, and are waiting on a polite reply.
Is Darth Vader a nailed-down PS3 exclusive forever, or are Namco-Bandai/Microsoft perhaps planning a 800GP download at some point, with a couple of extra arenas thrown in?
I find it hard to believe that Microsoft would willingly surrender a massive Sony advantage on arguably the year's most anticipated multi-format title apart from you know what.
This is the only mano et mano fighting game that i have ever liked, therefore i am quite looking forward to it. A european release date would be nice though. And the new Zelda lookalike character seems quite interesting.
I couldn't give a crap about the Star Wars fighters, I certainly won't be picking Yoda. But bring on Soul Calibur IV and its other cast of fighters, new and old alike
Nice to have some gams to look forward to in the summer. Also, I find it abit stupid with the Star Wars characters included and I can't believe that they will keep each one as console excluisive as I'm sure everyone would love a Vadar vs Yoda fight!

I cannot remember the last time a fighting game was described as "the years most anticipated multi-format title" since streetfighter2 on the snes. the genre's been in decline for a few years now, hopefully Soul Caliber4 and Streetfighter4 can drag it back up to the lofty heights it used to perch upon. as for the Star Wars characters i can't see them being exclusives and will prbably be available for download after release.
