Good Spidey/Bad Spidey - Web of Shadows revealed

Activision opening up player choice in latest game starring the web-slinger
Spider-Man fans will have the option of being the traditional good-guy web-slinger or operate on the supervillain side of the fence in new Spidey game Web of Shadows, judging by first details.

Teasing information has appeared on a teaser website for the new game, which reveals that it's set in New York City (no surprise there) and that Web of Shadows "gives you an unprecedented level of gameplay choice".

"...including, for the first time, control over the game's direction and outcome. Choose how Spider-Man fights, which powers to upgrade, who in the Marvel universe to fight with or against, and the fate of New York City itself."

The teaser site doesn't mention platforms for Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, but Activision will surely spread it as far and wide as possible.

Lost all faith in Spidey games after "Spider-man 3" and "Friend or Foe". How could they go so wrong after the success of Spider-man 2 is anyone's guess.

The bad side of Spidey? - sorry, but he's about as much a good guy as anyone....seems as if we'll be getting some more symbiote nonsense with this (yawn)

Still, got to be better than 'Friend or Foe' - even as a kids game, that's just inexcusable

i er....actually...quite enjoyed spiderman 3 *Ducks for cover* but friend or fool looked truly awful. I would like some more swinging action from spidey

this one is based of the comics.....count me in!! and spiderman 3 wasnt that bad on 360!
anyway you cant be a bad guy just more of an anti hero. A stone cold steve austin superhero if you like Laughing

Spiderman isn't evil. A better idea would be able to play as the classic supervillans, not as an evil spiderman - that's just wrong.

Theres been a rumour of Spiderman and Captain America appearing in the 360 and PS3 versions of Streetfighter 4 apparently!

That was a joke by the way!

Actually seeing how things are going, it wouldn't surprise me!

But, even that is totally against the character of Spiderman - the closest he's ever really come to being a villain/anti-hero was back in the symbiote days (when he had the original black costume and it was driving him a little nuts - eventually getting rid of the symbiote in Web of Spiderman 1)

Obviously, we don't know all the facts yet (in fact - no facts at all), but I really hope they don't do this...Spidey is a great character and a valuable license, there is absolutely no excuse for screwing around with it and trying to turn him into something he is not

I guess it could also be Kraven dressed as Spidey ala 'Kravens Last Hunt' - that could be cool...

I loved Vermin! - Marvel don't use him enough...I think it was J.M. Dematteis' writing that made that story so damn cool...

Sorry, off topic...
