Delay for The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition has been delayed and as such will miss its intended May 16 release date. So you might need to apply some Tippex to your diary.

"The delay can be attributed to the company's goal of making The Witcher: Enhanced Edition as close to a flawless product as possible", CD Projekt RED's explained.

It continues in a statement, "CD Projekt RED is dedicated to a simultaneous worldwide launch, and is taking the extra time to polish each language version to meet the high standards of the global games market. The exact date of the premiere of the Enhanced Edition will be announced in the upcoming days."

The Enhanced edition of the PC RPG was unveiled in February and features reworked translation of the script and dialogue from the Polish original, graphical and gameplay tweaks and - deep breath - better game stability plus "an array of smaller fixes that will increase interactivity and precision in combat".

It'll also come with two extra adventures, one of which was recently released for free in the latest patch for The Witcher.

All updates appearing in the Enhanced edition will be made available in an update for people that have already bought the RPG.

im so impressed with the way CDProjekt have supported the Witcher, its a superb game and thoroughly deserving of this reworking. I wish all developers could support their products this well...

Agreed. I will be purchasing this new version (not played the original yet) - if they hadn't addressed the loading time issues, I may well not have bothered. Other companies can take note of CD Projekt's persistence and willingness to back up their ambition like this

Yeah, have to say I think they're doing an excellent job here. I already loved the game as it was, but decided to stop my game when this was announced, and its nice to see them wanting to get it perfect. Such a contrast to Gothic 3, which could really have used support such as this. Nice to see the release of the mod tools as well, which always help games like this live much longer even after the game is beaten.
Looking forward to a bang up job on this when its released, and if their work with the Witcher is anything to go by I think we can expect good things from them in the future.
