The UK release date for the upcoming PS3 Call of Duty 4 downloadable content 'The Variety Map Pack' has been moved forward by a week to April 24. That's this Thursday, folks.
The pack was scheduled for release this Thursday in America only. Europe CoD fans were previously expecting to see the maps on May 4.
The pack includes four new multiplayer maps featuring new locations. It includes 'Creek,' a wide-open village ravaged by combat, 'Broadcast,' an enemy communications building, 'Chinatown' and 'Killhouse,' a desolate warehouse.
In addition, Infinity Ward's Rob Bowling has confirmed on his blog that Double XP day will now be the same day across the globe, kicking off at midnight on Friday.
Wasn't going to get this with the Metal Gear Online Beta and GTA coming out but now that the Beta test dosen't start until Saturday I might as well get this to pass some time unitl GTA comes out. Good job Infinity Ward giving the European customers the map packs the same time as the US. Will be able to play my friends now.
Well, that should cheer a few people up, seeing as the MGO Beta was an experience best forgetting! Just wait till the news that HOME has been delayed till 'fall' comes out. Ouchenhausen. Still, GTA4 cometh soon......
I've got them on the 360 and they really aren't that good. I've noticed that a lot players drop out of games when these maps come up, probably because they haven't bought them yet, which really sucks when your in with a good group of players.

The server or host normally stops me playing more than two games with the same group, even before the maps change.
