Set your alarm clock: The first Gears of War gameplay trailer will arrive on Xbox Live Video Store tomorrow morning at 7am, Microsoft has revealed.
With a "personal introduction" by Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski, the trailer offers the first in-game look at the "bigger, better and more badass" gameplay in Gears 2. Cliffy'll probably make a prat of himself, too.
According to Microsoft, the trailer will feature the first look at chainsaw duels, large scale fire fights and "stunning new visuals". We hope it's worth getting up early on a Saturday for.
Microsoft's media summit is due to go down this tuesday, May 13, where we'll hopefully see even more of Epic's sequel. Stay tuned.
I'm not a fan boy and in anyway what so ever do I wish to offend anyone. but I wish sony and microsoft would grow up and settle their difference so games like this get multi playform releases. I really enjoyed gears 1 but my 360 didn't work long enough for me to get too far into or complete it. So I went for PS3 as it was a good blu-ray player and had many games I am looking forward to coming out soon (won't go there). I just wish I could play gears 1 and 2 on a ps3 because I refuse to buy another 360. hope there is no flack of friction because of anything I said. I mean it purely from a neutral point of view. So peace all. I know my past posts have been somewhat harsh but had some personal stuff going on so its sorted now.
I hope its not just gameplay in this trailer, i'd much rather see something about the story. I mean we already know what this game looks and plays like, unless they've altered the game so drastically that we can't tell the difference anymore. However, I highly doubt they will have changed the gameplay that much. I'm looking forward to this, especially if we here something about the story tommorow.

I know what you mean. I'm sick of my damn 360 going wrong and being loud. But I don't want to waste my money on a PS3. Please Mr. PC come back to us!
I absolutely hate the loudness issue and the fact that i worry the thing's going to screw up.Trouble is 360 has the better line up both games already available and whats on the horizon - obviously you will typically disagree if you are pro Sony.
My 360 died a couple of weeks ago but the thought of getting a PS3 never entered my mind because i wouldn't be able to play my collection or the potentially fabulous Fable2, Gears2, Alan Wake and Halo Wars.Damned annoying if your 360 does break though.
One thing i also notice is how people claim to buy a PS3 because their 360 has died. The reason you choose a machine is because of the games that take your fancy. If a machine dies then it's one gigantic pain in the bottom to be sure and although the thought of changing machines does go through your mind, you can't really because you would no longer be able to play those games you chose the machine in the first place for.
People claim this all the time but clearly it's bs for the most

I'm on 360 number 4 but I still think it's a bloody good games machine(plus i've been getting freebies out of msoft for me trouble). Definately agree on the 360 line-up being stronger as far as the games I am interested in is concerned. Although the PS3 does have quite a few gems (some that I didnt give the credit due before I actually played) already/due out too.
Complete the games you have on 360 while you still can, then trade / e-bay the lot.
Going forward the PS3 has great exclusives that would be a shame to miss, whilst 3rd party titles are as good on the PS3 as they are on 360. The 360 exclusives can always be bought on PC just a little later on so you won't miss out.

It puts the Killzone 2 prerendered footage nearly to shame. Everything really is bigger, there's loads going on, huge wide open environments, and by the looks of it, a lot more gameplay potential. The improved melee is particularly impressive... not to mention the massive scale of everything. And the perfect framerate.
I agree with LordVon... get both and have the best of both worlds. My PS3 is on longer now than the Xbox but that's only because I'm now playing GTA4 on it. It will switch in the Xboxs favour when Fable 2 comes out.
As for the Xbox360 having a better line up of games coming out. I would say it's 50/50, both consoles have some cracking games coming out in the future. If everyone would take the rose tinted glasses they view their own console with they would admit that. They would also admit that both Sony and Microsoft are rip of merchants.
haha are you kidding i just saw it and the graphics are exactly the same as the original, the only difference, if your very picky is the lighting is slightly nicer. I really don't understand why some game developers do this, they bring out sequels with minimal improvements. Yes, the gameplay has been improved but thats what all sequels do. Also killzone 2 has made a huge improvement from the original. Im probably gonna still get it, but its the same game really.

Get the best of both by having both machines and stop being fanbots is my solution. The port of any consoles games to PC is usually problematic and resulting in a poor title.
As i wrote on the xbox forum this morning...just by seeing this video its got my game of the year already.
I was expecting just a normal run of the mill video, i was not expecting somthing like this. I am completly sold on it.
Im lucky enough to have a wii, xbox and ps3 and after seeing this it strenthens by belief that the xbox is my personal fave machine.
metal gear what ?
just amazing cant smegging wait for November...or its delay.
One other thing though. I will laugh my bottom off if this game gets delayed due to seeing all the xbots who stoked the fires after the recent Killzone delay.

Er, the graphics are pretty much the same, aye, but theres a lot *more* of everything. In Gears, you got maybe 5 or six locust at once in an enclosed area. This new trailer shows dozens of the things swarming around at a time. But at the end of the day, its still the same game engine, and since the visuals of Gears still look as good as anything else out there despite it being a year and a half old, Im not too bothered.

Isn't the gameplay improvement the key thing they should be working on?? I don't really understand the problem here.
And yes, Killzone 2 is leaps and bounds ahead of the original, but the original was a few years ago and on the PS2, so you should expect to see some pretty big differences, I'd say.
Im probably gonna still get it, but its the same game really.
*Thats* why they they do it. Because it sells.
But then, it will have been two years since the first Gears. Need for Speed (and most other EA franchises, come to think of it) churn out a game every year.
man, after looking at this video! Sony has nothing even close to compare to this game. Fall of Man wasn't anything close to the first Gears, and with HAZE and Killzone, Sony's games just don't have the LIFE in them to make them exciting!. I downloaded the HAZE demo, and while I like the feel of the game, it just feels flat. you don't feel like a BAD A$$ soldier like you do in Halo or Gears!
Sony's got work to do, also the PS Duelshock doesn't help. I mean the 360 pad has got the PS pads beaten in just about every area of gaming.
Looking smoother and slightly more colourful than the original in my opinion. Be interesting to see some of the on foot footage away from the tanks. Otherwise looking looking good and a lot busier by the snippet shown.
I was blown away, its absolutedly stunning. I'm definitely not a huge gears of war fan, but wow!. I think I'll end up being a huge gears of war 2 fan though.

This looks like one of the most/(even the best) graphically and functionaly gifted games of late. I saw this and gasped in my uni library. There haven't been many games that have done this other than the first few CoD4 trailers. There is only one word to describe its arrival and effect, and that is rather ironically 'EPIC'!

You must be a moron! Sorry but common sense says if you have 360 and it breaks down you would naturally send it back to MS to fix as it would still be under the 3 year warranty not lay out Ł300 for a new machine that does not a have a game you claim to like. I agree the breakdown rate of the 360 is poor but and I'm not excusing MS but if they're willing to fix it for free (my launch model broke down they took it away and fixed it for free and I had it back in just over a week) then you need your brain tested for not milking MS. These companys (MS, Sony and Nintendo ) are only in this for the money so when a 360 or (PS3 or Wii) breaks down and is still under warranty to just leave it and let MS (or Sony or Nintendo) off without having to fix it then you're a mug!
