Here are the first ever shots of Viva Pinata 2 - the sequel to Rare's Piñata-petting launch game.
These shots, along with the first screens of that Banjo Kazooie game you've waited years to see, hit the net over the weekend, destroying any NDA ahead of the big reveal that was planned for tomorrow.
As you can see from the shots, gardening and caring for those Piñatas is again the idea, only you can expect a host of new equipment to use and Piñatas to raise, in gorgeous new environments.
And that second control circle looks like a new two-player co-op mode to us. But you'll have to wait until tomorrow for the official unveiling. Soz.
Hurrah! Maybe this time the general gaming public will realise it's greatness. I recommended the original to three FPS-loving 'hardcore' gamers, told them to play VP for at least an hour, and by then they were hooked.
Certainly one of the most under-rated 360 games, next to the original Condemned.

Couldn't agree more. Its just very embarrassing when ur non-gamer mates arrive up for a few beers and a game of pro-evo - They pull the game off the shelves and look at it for a sec before turning to you and saying "what's this" with the same look in their eyes as your mum might have while confronting you after just finding a bag of white powder in your room.
The reason the first one failed is because it really was quite a tricky game, specially in the earlier stages, which was bound to put off young kids. As longas they can sort out the learning curve and hopefully raise the limit on stuff you can have in your garden, this should be excellent!
Microsoft and Rare obviously have faith in the franchise, and I think this time round there will be a much bigger marketing push. The first game was a real gem, and a refreshing change to the usual.
If it does have co-op this could be really interesting. I hope it has enough different mechanics to the first to make it worth buying for fans of the original. Not that I wouldn't mind playing more of the same.
Nice one! Good to see one of my fav 360 titles getting a well deserved follow up. It's just a pity that not many people seem to know about the wonderful game that is Viva Pinata. Ah well, their loss.
The first one was almost good, but it managed to feel linear for a game that really needed to be open-ended. Hopefully this time you'll get some real choices in the type of garden you create, rather than just the layout (which is how the first one felt to me).
I LOVED the first one while it lasted but after I'd rinsed the achievements I just felt no compulsion to go back to it. Will probably be picking this one up.
I loved the original. Must like Rare's offering of Kameo, this game was seriously overlooked and deserved alot more attention. Sadly 90% of 360 owners see a game of this graphical style and shun it straight away, which is a real shame as it's easily the best sim game on consoles.
I hope they remove the guy who instantly kills one of your pinata, you couldn't do anything about it either. Anyway looking forward to it and Banjo if it doesn't turn out to be too racing heavy.
