Noooo, the developer of WiiWare title Pop, has said it's in the process of pitching a Pokemon MMO to Nintendo.
After the relative success of its WiiWare game, Noooo has listed a number of ideas it's pitching to developers. At least one of which involves Nintendo.
"We have a concept for a cool Pokemon MMORPG," the development company has posted on its website.
While it's highly doubtful such a small company could develop the product, there is the possibility that Nintendo will buy it out and supplement its workforce.
That is, unless Nintendo isn't actually working on a Pokemon MMO. Given the obvious possibilities of wandering around challenging players and collecting Pokemon, we'd be surprised if Miyamoto hadn't got a few people locked away somewhere working on it.
You scared the crap out of me . We have all dreamed of a fully realised 3D Pokemon MMO, or at least those of us with a soul have. I don't really trust any company to make a console Pokemon after the last three dismal attempts. A game like this could really damage the franchise if not given adequate time or attention, make a sequel to Pokemon Snap instead .
I wish I was working for a developer. I've got some great ideas for a Pokemon MMO(RPG?). *Sigh*
Nintendo must be working on an Animal Crossing MMO and a big Pikmin game. Just awaiting some news on it.
I suspect that playing the game will be free, but there will be an option to buy items to customise with. Maybe a fee to enter online tournaments too.....
I've been an avid pokémon fan ever since Red and Blue were reeased in the UK, and words cannot express how excited I am about this.
Maybe some link-up with Everybody's pokémon Ranch would be good if this game was made, not to mention link-up with Diamond, Pearl and Platinum when it comes out (Platinum is a genuine game. It's the Emerald to Diamond and Pearl's Ruby and Sapphire, if you know what I mean. PLEEEAAASSSEEE! Make this Pokémon MMORPG, and make it good as well.
Console pokemon sucks, handhelds are great. Saying that though a Pokemon MMO, if done well would be fantastic, and would definitely have me back on my Wii. Providing it wasn't fully motion sensing crap.
It would be amazing to walk around, capturing and levelling up pokemon, versing fellow trainers and battling at Gyms (preferably AI Gyms)...could really work well.

Colleseum was awful - the battle revolution was crap too
The onyl good 3d pokemon games were SNAP + Stadium 1
If they made a pokemon game set in an mmo in full 3d and with live people battling you id get a wii that will be the only way id get one and it would hve to be amazing

If the game was made and it was made well it would ironically make that fellow who stated Nintendo would be the ones to crack the console MMO rather prescient.
I'd be surprised if this wasn't in development. Nintendo obviously like money and this game would make bucket loads of the stuff.
Who said it had to be 3d? seeing as the 2d pokenmon games have always been beeter anyway it might make sense to do it from a top down perspective (using a 3d engine to render it ofc)
a pokemon MMO has the potential to be one of the greatest games ever but as already said if not done properly i dont think i could ever forgive nintendo
