UbiDays: Splinter Cell a no-show

Delay rumours look to be true for 360-exclusive Conviction...
Splinter Cell: Conviction has failed to surface at Ubisoft's Ubidays event in Paris, which was used to showcase the publisher's releases for the upcoming year.

The no-show at the showcase event has strengthened reports that the PC and 360-exclusive stealth game has been "taken back to the drawing board" by Ubisoft Montreal, as reported by Xbox World 360 magazine.

Conviction has been in development for some years now, surfacing early last year with combat involving dynamic scenery and crowd stealth gameplay that focused on mixing in with the public.

We've no idea if it'll look anywhere near the same when it finally does resurface, but obviously we'll let you know when it happens.

If a delay makes it a better game then im all for it. Ubisoft Montreal are making this version (they did splinter cell 1 and chaos theory) so im expecting this to be very good.

yea but delays doesnt exactly mean its gonna be better, it could have been completely crap *cough* *cough* HAZE lol.

Well, like many people have suggested on the web, it's believed the games concept was too similar to Assassin's Creed and Ubisoft didn't want Splinter Cell competing with another of it's own franchaises so they have gone back to the drawing board.
I think this is probably a good thing as the Splinter Cell series was becoming a tad tiresome with the yearly releases.
As for Haze, that game always looked like crap. Sadly it was hyped up by PS3 users due to it being exclusive and also being from Free Radical.

Yes nut ubiosft montreal have made the best two splinter cell games to date, i trust them to make this good. As V said, haze was massively overhyped.

Shame. Guess MGS4 is gonna be the stealth em up of the year now.

Bet sony paid ubisoft to delay it, they were obviously scared of the might of splinter cell.

The cell seems to be splintering of it's own accord. Laughing

Laughing . Where have all the fanboys gone ? Is it a school night ?

Ubisoft said the rumours of the game 'going back to the drawing board' and being delayed werent true...that was a week ago so what would have changed?

Everything is being delayed. There is going to be one serious famine in the summer. I'm stocking up on games now, just in case. Hope to see you guys alive after it.

Oh come on! Who goes to school anymore?

Can't be because your still here.

I'm glad 'they've taken it back to the drawing board.'
Splinter Cell series is a cynical rip-off of Metal Gear Solid. It does have its moments but if Ubisoft were to show it now it would pale in comparison to the, reportedly, magnificent MGS 4.

Games like Splinter Cell and Saints Row are products designed by accountants with no zest, buzz or any other word with the letter z. Unless games companies respect us, I keep my money for the good stuff. I'll stick to the real thing.

It must be the alcohol because that was a joke, i just did a simple reversal of what is usually said ie sony fanboys saying ms pay for exclusivity etc.

Can't be because your still here.
Oh how original, did you think that up yourself.
