According to the mag the visuals will be the same as the 360 and any SixAxis action is still to be confirmed. The PS3 version will include all extra Plasmids and any little fixes done for the 360 version straight out of the box, says a post on NeoGAF.
Word is that the dev will work with Sony to "extend and augment the game", although what that means is a bit of a mystery. It's too early to talk about all the good stuff, apparently. They're probably saving it for another mag cover/reveal during the summer.
More interestingly the mag says the PS3 game probably isn't worth picking up if you played through the Xbox version. Although the game's creative director says "whatever we end up with via our discussions with Sony, coupled with the fact that BioShock allows you to go through and roll your own shooter in the first place...these two factors together would turn into a motive for replay."
If there's new stuff in there, you can count us in.
Just what I expected really. Nothing added and the flaws unaddressed. I don't really see this doing too well on the PS3 unless it's being released at a mid-price level like the recent Lost Planet.

Did you even read the article???? :

i played this on my 360 and it was over hyped and dull. on top of this each girl you rescued was identical to the last. why i could never work out. no online play and no replay value. I'm a big fan of fps's and this just did nothing for me. definitely wont be picking this up for my ps3.

Idiot.
... So, yes. What he said was right.
This is the 360 version with the DLC already on the disc. Other than PS3-only owners, there isnt much of a market for this now. It'll sell, but nowhere near the numbers it already made on PC and 360. There just isnt enough (so far) to make anybody buy it again.

To each his own, but to be honest I think you just didnt let yourself get drawn into it properly. A game like Bioshock needs to be taken steadily. I spent most of my time just walking around looking at everything, listening to the water drips and the eery music.
HDTV and 5.1 sound really helps an game like this stand out above all others.
Well, I'll throw my 2cents into the ring - Bioshock was my favourite game of 2007. The visuals and sound were amazing. If you rushed through it at 100mph without savouring the location you were in, then you missed out.
As for the lack of multi-player? Is this a joke? Surely you knew what you were buying beforehand?
I actually loved the storyline and the plasmids and picking up the recordings to move the story along.
Certainly not dull by a long shot.
Saying that though, I thought Halo3 was dull. Now that was overhyped!
BioShock would have been far better if you hadn't been effectively invulnerable for 99.9 per cent of the game.
I shouldn't be able to beat a Big Daddy to death with a melee weapon on Hard, just by constantly respawning and rushing it.
Flawed.
Depends how you play it. The game doesnt say 'hey, you can respawn so just hit it with a spanner and keep dying until he goes away' - thats a choice you have to make.
Personally I see no point in paying for Bioshock and doing that, 'just because'. I spent many times loading an earlier save just so I could try out different ways of defeating not just the big daddies, but certain groups of splicers.
Plus if they didnt have those chambers, you'd probably complain that it was too hard to kill big daddies...
I got it on the PC and loved it. So much detail went into the world. Now that its coming out on PC 3 I would love them to fix a few things and add a bit more detail. Like the 1st little sister you meet runs and hides on you. As you approach she looks terrifed and trys to scramble away but is trapped, I would like to see more life put into all of them like this so you feel more guilt when breaking their little necks for adam.
Anyone madly into COD4 or Halo probably wont get what this game is about but for everyone else I say buy it

I don't think that's the point though is it. It's blatantly only going to PS3 to enable the single platform holders to play it and set up the release of the multi platform sequel.
I won't be buying it on PS3. It's good but not great. Great atmosphere but the actual gameplay is dull and flawed. if I ever fancied playing it again I'd pick it from the 360 bargain bin and mop up those few achievements I missed.
I got it on the PC and after trying to get it installed I felt underwhelmed by it, the gameplay was bland, there were no RPG elements, and the difference between the difficulty settings was a joke.
I hated how the 'ethical' choice about the little sisters was determined by the first one you see (I won't spoil it for those still in the dark).
I got it on the 360 a little later just to see if they did make it differently, as apparently it was 2 studios, 1 for each version of the game, and to my amazement, they were both identical.
I pity the PS3 owners who will get excited by this, it's not worth the money they will charge for it. The level of detail just wasn't there (and I ran it on high on my PC).
I've completed it and I never even bothered with the DLC, unless they make more varied levels and enemies, I would wait until it's on budget.

i do get your point and i always try to make the most of games. drawing curtains, headphones, lights out etc especially when these things cost 40 quid i dont want to rush through a game. it started great but soon got very dull doing the same stuff over and over and having to re venture through locations. the lack of imagination on the little girls was the thing that killed it for me.
I was going to wait for the PS3 version but I saw the 360 version going for Ł15 last week so I snapped it up.
I'm very impressed and I haven't enjoyed a FPS this much since Half-Life 2. And as someone pointed out already, connecting your 360 to a nice sound set-up makes the game come to life. The groaning meatal sounds and water splashes make me feel like i'm there. It's also the first videogame EVER to make me jump LOL

The extra plasmids are hardly a big attraction they were released for the PC and 360 versions soon after the game was released. So soon after the release that they must have of been ready for the actual release of the game and that begs the question if they were that important why weren't they included in the game from the start.
The most significant fix for the game after it's release was for widescreen monitors so I guess that's the other fix that's included. Any other augmentations or extentions of the game I doubt will amount to very much; some minor implementation of Sixaxis controls perhaps? I doubt much more. Any big ideas or major changes will be saved for the currently in development BioShock 2. Which will almost certainly have a simultaneous 360/PS3/PC release.
I played Bioshock to completion on the PC when it was released last Summer and it is a good game with a couple of moments of greatness (Cohen's Masterpiece mainly). However, a great deal of the game was flawed. Your near invunerability, thanks to the numerous respawn points took away any sense of danger or urgency to the game. The little sisters and big daddies were badly underdeveloped and should have led to choices that had a far big impact on the story. In the end the story was very linear, despite the opportunities the game had to make it much more open. The choices you made should have changed your allies and enemies more and taken you down different paths with different outcomes to the story.
Yes I did read the original article.
More interestingly the mag says the PS3 game probably isn't worth picking up if you played through the Xbox version.
Which fairly much justifies my assumption it's going to be a striaght port with nothing added beyond the already available DLC and hardly makes me an idiot.

A game that you hated so much, you bought it twice.. Am I the only one who fails to see the logic here?
I think Bioshock was a great (but flawed) experience. I wish I'd only rented it rather than buying it though.. I tried to do a 2nd playthrough but couldn't find the motivation...

I agree, you have to slow down and take your time with games like this. All games can be cheated on by looking for flaws and exploiting them.
The above reader needs to chill and enjoy bioshock for the atmosphere and thrills it offers.

plz hit that into your heads. none got the same mind.
just like you can't expect everyone to like museums, you can't expect all people to like games like Bioshock, Stalker and fallout.
myself I truly hate 2d fighting games, and some love them but i don't wage war with them for that!
the reason to diversity in peoples interest has to do with natural selection: a diverse society will work better than a society that is not diverse. it's explained by the Darwinian principle.
well generally what i mean is that we should not burn people for liking different things than ourself. when the reasons to it is nones fault and only biological.

where you hugging a tree when you wrote that? haha. but very true, its like people who...CONSTANTLY!.. go on MGS threads to slag the game off about cut scenes!, Thats MGS!, thats the game!, if you dont like it, f**k off.

I agree with Plughead. The whole energy mechanic was flawed. I loved the game initially but quickly lost interest when I realised I could just respawn and kill anything. This was frustrating as it could have been a classic.
