Nintendo confirm new titles, Fatal Frame IV dated

Updated schedule for Japan dates new games
Nintendo of Japan has updated its release schedule for the next few months, confirming the date for Fatal Frame IV, along with a number of titles including Wario Land Shake.

Fatal Frame IV is the latest in the series known as Project Zero over here and is being developed exclusively for Wii. We like that a lot.

No More Heroes creator Suda 51 is co-sharing directorship with series director Shibata Makoto and Nintendo is publishing the title, so expect it to get a high-profile release over here. It's dated in Japan for July 31.

Another title on the list is something called Wario Land Shake. It's for Wii and is hitting shelves on July 24.

DS owners might also be pleased to know that Densetsu no Starfi and Rhythm Tengoku Gold will also be available in July. From Japan, at least.

*grr stupid timeout*

I've got a bad feeling that this new Wario game is going to cause an Influx of kancered Wii Boards, hurt feelings and bruised egos as obese kids from the suburbs attempt to 'pwn' their mothers, fathers and arthritic grandparents.
Chrisordie on 28 May '08
If idiots decide to do something stupid and end up hurting themselves, I say let them go for it.

I've been wanting Fatal Frame (or Project Zero) since I first heard of it. The real question is - will we actually end up getting it at all?

Project Zero is fantastic.. (Well the first two were, the third went a little downhill.)

Probably the scariest game series I have ever played... It could potentially kick ass with Wiimote controls.

Yer, could import it but might have to play it at the local Chinese takeaway to know what the hell's going on (hey, i buy that many special curries and chips that i'm practically part of the family).

Well you could import it for Wii, but then you'd have a very scary looking coaster, since it's region coded Smile

That probably wouldn't help, seeing as the game would be in JAPANESE...
Anyway, even playing a Project Zero game in English it's hard enough to know what the hell is going on...

Yes but it's a well known fact that all Chinese people can talk Chinese AND Japanese as well as Manadarin so there would'nt be any problem.

They are also, at birth, kung-fu experts.

Downside? small tadgers.

I am pretty certain the initial news on Fatal Frame IV said that it would be coming to the US also, which would either mean a European version too. If not, you can always import it from the US. We speaka da english, ya.

HA HA HA 'We'. Love it.

Do you really think I was being racist? or was i merely having a joke?

And if you want ignorance look closer to home.
philgreaaaaaaaat on 28 May '08

Whether you were 'joking' or not, can you tell me how listing some racial stereotypes could NOT be considered racist?

There are so many more mature and less offensive things for you to joke about..
Deadgood UK on 28 May '08
Meh, I enjoyed Wario World, despite it being a little short, so another possible platforming console game is welcomed, wii board or not.

But of course, WE NEED SOME FOOTAGE/SCREENSHOTS!

This is a case of taking a horse to water I think.

If you can't see the point by now.....

Fatal Frame is a must have. Who cares about the many Mario/Wario and many other recycled Nintendo products (despite how good some of them might be Very Happy) give me Fatal Frame!!!!

On a side note, anyone happen to know why the hell the name was changed from Fatal Frame to Project Zero?
potnoodle1 on 28 May '08

Yes.. I get that you were apparently making fun of Chinese racial stereotypes by listing them in what I can only assume was meant to be a sarcastic manner.. I get that.

What I don't get is why you felt the need to do that. Racial stereotypes may be a joke to you, but to many people they are offensive and can have a negative effect on people's lives.

Maybe next time think before posting.

I've got to admit, that comment did raise a smile, and I'm part Chinese myself. (and no, I don't consider it racist in any way)

But just to be a bit pedantic; Chinese is a race, not a language. Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka, Gan etc. are the actual dialects within China. Wink

YAYYY!!! finally someone gets my point. What dg failed to consider was that I was actually MOCKING racism and stereotypes, which is a world away from actually being a racist.

I shall, however, brush up on my (tiny) knowledge of dialects (or just save your message) for future reference.

Maybe I should send DG some Kamikaze lager? although that may be too strong for him....

Did you fail to read my above post, or just choose to ignore it?

You can't use racial sterotypes to mock racism and then ignore the fact that this could still potentially be offensive..

You could say 'I don't care if it offends people'. But you can't say 'It's not potentially racist or offensive.'

You can't tell people what offends them..

You are apparently a very delicate flower, with some incredible delusions about the tolerance levels of the average Joe these days.

You are right I can't tell people what does and does not offend them.

It's not needed as mature, intelligent people can see for themselves whether something is or isn't offensive.

I'm sure you'll come back to me with some other pro-pc waffle so i'll bid you good-day.

You guys DO know that there are parallels between Chinese writing (its a universal system, yes? For all Chinese dialects?) and kanji, right? During high school, I'd wait in the morning with my friend's mom who was from Hong Kong while we waited for my friend to get ready. Her mom and I'd watch this Japanese import show with kanji subtitles for the hearing impaired. Her mom explained to me that the writing was similar and that she could understand the gist of what was going on, and she'd always 'translate' the news for me. (I'm 1/2 Viet 1/2 White btw so you know where I'm coming from.
