Ubisoft has told CVG that a demo for Tom Clancy's: EndWar will be hitting Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network later on this year.
The demo will precede two closed beta tests that will give Ubisoft the opportunity to make sure the game is properly balanced.
"The balance of these games is the win or lose of the games," Ubisoft content director Julian Geright told us. "We've balanced it fairly well, but we're doing two different beta tests - one limited and one much much bigger.
"And then a demo where we're going to be able to balance on the results. We're doing a playtest with professional gamers to make sure there are as few exploits as possible before launch."
Balancing won't end there, though. As EndWar is heavily built around the idea of a persistent world, Ubisoft intends to continue balancing after the game ships, in a similar manner to how Blizzard handles WoW.
"We're going to balancing even post-launch," Geright said. "It's an important thing for a strategy game to remain fun. They have those small imperfections that people latch on to, and then you change them."
I'll definitely be downloading the demo, as I'm liking the look of this. It's one genre I miss from my PC gaming days, the RTS genre!
Yeah i miss playing red alert from my PC days, command and conquer and the lotr games just didn't work right with a pad on the 360. hopefuly they'll put in a keyboard and mouse option for at least the ps3 versions if not the 360.
