Ubisoft has just officially confirmed that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in the works.
Update: Hit the thumbnail to the right to watch the short trailer for yourself. Although no platform was specified, the trailer looks to have been rendered in-game, and of a 360/PS3 graphical quality. Draw your own conclusions from that. Update out.

It was a brief unveiling that offered no gameplay specifics whatsoever, Ubi only showing the short trailer of series heroine Jade and a fat pig in an open desert doing... nothing.
This confirms rumours earlier this month that a sequel to Ubi's brilliant (but unfortunately ignored at retail) quest was on the way, which also pointed towards PS3 and Xbox 360 releases.
Loved the original so I'm over the moon to learn a sequel is under way. Can't wait to get my hands on it. My only real shock is that it won't be available on Wii.

I cannot believe that this is actually in the works! This is the single most surprising piece of gaming news so far this year. I never thought this would happen.
Now I am excited... it'll get added to my wish list immediately. Maybe UbiSoft actually want to advertise the game this time around.

I hope MS see an opportunity and bung the original on the Xbox originals soon, the first is one of those games that should be experienced by many. Hope the sequel will be just as classic!

Trailer doesn't show anything at all really, but makes me all excited. I loved the two characters of Jade and the pig (Can't remember his name!?). The trailer has excellent graphics which hints at 360 and PS3, but I just can't see this game not coming to Wii.

I played it... and finished it in less than a week. It was good while it lasted, but really didn't live up to the initial promise; so I don't really understand why people are getting so over-excited. Let's hope the sequel is a little less linear and a little more epic.

Wow - Up until now I never thought it would happen. Well done Ubisoft! And please people, this time around buy the damn game! Probably pointless me saying that in this thread considering the only people reading it are BG&E fans! Still - what great news.
i loved the original it's a shame it idn't sell well. but when you see the whale show it's fin from the water it showed it's class (the people who played the game know what i'm talking about. that's not the only amazing moment the gameplay was fantastic and the final boss, unique isn't the word) Hopefully the sequel will be as memorable. back then it was zelda for the ps2 let's hope the sequel can pull it off for the ps3(and every other console i want every one to experience it but it's just my console of choice )inbox magic on gamecentral does work
I played the original to completion and though i agree it was a good game, it was definetely not as good as the hype surrounding it makes it seem to be. Sorry, but i too felt that needed to be said.
Looking at this thread for a PC GAMING magazine, and a PC GAMING forum and a PC GAMING thread, I hardly see any PC gaming commnets. All I see is comments like 'doesn't look like it's coming for the Wii', and 'the Gamecube version was excellent'
This trend of PC gaming sites and threads being taken over by console gamers with their console comments does not bode well for a PC version of this game, or PC version of many games at all in the future!
Would love to find a moderated PC gaming thread that deleted anything about console gaming posts - anyone know of one?
I am a PC gamer - can't I have a forum with threads that just talk about PC gaming? Or am I asking too much?!
It isn't very PC-centric news. This is the topic attached to the news that BG&E2 is getting a multi-platform sequel. In fact it is a rare thread where I don't think I noticed a single stupid fanboy comment (yet) so I'd consider it a win!

But this ISN'T about a PC game, it's about a console game. As much as you might like it to come to the PC, currently, it is for the consoles. Why should people rah on about the PC when it's squat all to do with it?

I'll stick by my original opinion. This game was amazing, the story was great, I don't that it was linear, it had a feel to the game. It was great. I completed GTA4 in a week, it still took about 40 hours of play to do.

I'll stick by my original opinion. This game was amazing, the story was great, I don't that it was linear, it had a feel to the game. It was great. I completed GTA4 in a week, it still took about 40 hours of play to do.
I am ecstatic this game is coming out.
BGaE took me a maximum of 15 hours (and yes I managed to get pictures of all the little (and big) beasties)... Someone up there compared it to Zelda, and it definitely started with the sense it was going to be equally epic, and then you got rushed to the conclusion far too quickly - like maybe they ran out of development time - which to me was disappointing. I'm not saying it's bad that they're making a sequel, on the contrary it's a good thing, but if you hype a game up too much it can only lead to disappointment...
