The Splinter Cell development team has responded to the conga line of rumours that 360-exclusive Conviction has been taken "back to the drawing board".
"It's been a while since our last message but we're happy to say that development of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction is continuing well and the game is shaping up nicely," the dev team posted on the official Splinter Cell forum.
"There are lots of rumours flying around right now about Conviction's development status and we can tell you that the gameplay has evolved, similar to what happens in every game's development process, and you won't be disappointed."
After the latest Splinter Cell failed to turn up at yesterday's UbiDays event in Paris, the French publisher told CVG it was "not ready to be more specific" about the status of the game.
"Unfortunately we're not able to make Ubidays this year but in the forthcoming months we'll be back in touch to begin showing you this new installment of the Splinter Cell series," the dev team posted.
Splinter Cell dev speaks: "it's evolved -you wont be disappointed."
He's LYING. Splinter Cell HASN'T evolved. We WILL be disappointed.
And you know he's lying how exactly??
I really don't understand why you hate Splinter Cell so much when you obviously know so very little about it. You claim it's a MGS clone, yet anybody that has played both will tell you otherwise.
If you don't like it, don't comment on it - simple as that.

I've never played any Splinter Cell games, and TBH I've never had that much interest before. But Conviction has my attention. I like the idea of having no tech equipment and having to blend in to escape.
I wonder if they went back to the drawing board so they can use the new version of UE3 to get the crowds filled up more.
