Microsoft Game Studios recently showcased its Xbox 360 line-up for the rest of 2008, including big hitters Banjo-Kazooie, Fable 2 and Gears of War 2. But from what we've heard, there are two more planned for the end of the year...
According to well placed sources close to Microsoft, the publisher has two more "big" Xbox 360 games to be revealed for its 2008 line-up.
Where and when will these two games be revealed? According to our own Deep Throat, it'll happen at E3 in Los Angeles, probably during Microsoft's pre-event press conference on Monday, July 14.
Our source didn't specify whether the pair of games will be totally new titles, or just missing names from the 360 line-up (Halo Wars or Alan Wake would be fantastic additions to the 360 Christmas list).
One of the games could even utilise the heavily rumoured 360 motion controller, which is sounding more and more real as the year progresses.
Excellent news then, if true, considering that Microsoft's '08 roster already looks pretty solid with Fable and Gears. Either way, we'll keep our ear to the ground and keep you posted on more developments.

Yeah both have some hopefully excellent titles in the pipeline. Although again this year at the moment the 360 lineup is looking stronger(in regards to titles that I want to play) although the PS3 lineup looks a lot better this year to me.
Hopefully the 2 titles they announce will be new IP's exclusive or not.
One of them's bound to be a new Halo game. Perhaps Peter Jackson's interactive Halo thingy? I don't know. If Microsoft is making a big announcement, remember that they usually contain the word Halo with a number at the end.

Just reading IGNs review of MGS4,i cant wait to play it,i knew it was going to be something special after playing and enjoying the others.
Time to finally buy a Ps3 and then sell it after ive finished MGS4,i think the reveal will be Alan Wake or maybe Resi 5 is coming out at christmas,im hoping its Graw 3 myself.
When I first played the original Fable I was slightly disappointed because it wasn't as deep a game as it was promised to be (more aracadey). But It was a very charming game that grew on me beautiful graphics, music, and clever. and I played and completed twice and the Lost Chapters! So I cant wait for Fable 2.
As for one of the shocking exclusives... Killer Instinct 3 which i cant help but feel underwhelmed.
If you do a wee bit of digging around the net there is a lot of speculative info on this game and by the sounds of it it could be something pretty special, then again it could be another Haze.

I admit, and would be oneof the first people to admit it, that some of the games coming on 360 are great,namely Fable 2, but Gears isnt that great, it is extremely linear with awesome graphics (i had it), you would walk in to a place, loads of things would pop out, you cover and shoot, then walk to the next place and do the same thing

i'd hardly find that funny, considering the game would have to be on like 6 dvd's, unless they make an inferior port and cram it all on 1 dvd. plus, had Microsoft secured MGS4 to the 360, it would've made much more sense to announce it before its PS3 debut, not after. its probably Alan Wake and Halo Wars. Shenmue 3 would be cool, considering PS3 has Yakuza all to itself. but what would be most cool is if it was two new IPs.

They have announced Call of Duty 5, but they havnt 'unveiled' it yet, people are eager to see what era it is set in

you can add Infamous, 8 Days, Final Fantasy XIII, Heavy Rain and White Knight Chronicles to the PS3 list. then there's FFXIII Versus and GT5, for what they're worth. also, Conviction is looking murkier and murkier by the minute.

to offer my own opinion, i have a 60/40 interest in Too Human, Alan Wake and Conviction, 70/30 L4D and Infinite Undiscovery, 100% interest in GOW2 and Falbe 2, and no interest in any of the remaining listed 360 games. on the PS3 i have a 50/50 interest in 8 days, 60/40 interest in Heavy Rain, 70/30 interest in LBP and Resistance 2, 80/20 interest in Killzone 2 and Infamous, no interest in GT5 and 100% interest in everything else.

I was right then in my earlier post, the 360 does have more exclusives this year(the whole of 200than the PS3. All the sony fanboys were saying 2008 will belong to the PS3, but it's not happening.
Maybe 2009 will be the year of the PS3(i've heard this before). I'd be quite happy if that were the case as i like my PS3 It's just at the moment i prefer my 360 a bit more(might change in the future).
My sources tell me that Nintendo will also announce some new games for 08 for the DS and WII. And shock horror Sony will also announce some new Title or titles for 08
Teh only game from teh Paystation 3 line up I want is Metal Gear Cut Scene, so I hope it fails on the Paystation 3 so Konami are forced to put it on the Xbox to make a living.

Being an owner of all 3 consoles, I can confidently say 360 has the better line up with games such as Gears 2, Fable 2, Banjo 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, Too Human and most likley a few more I'm forgetting. PS3 on the other hand has MGS4, LBP, Resistance 2 and Motorstorm 2. Now can you honestly say that's better than 360? MGS4 and LBP are the only standout titles. The other two are sequels to average launch games. As for 2009, we can't really comment on that. While Sony like to brag about games far off in the future, MS seem to keep the focus on the here and now. Also, if I took your take on Gears, would that mean MGS4 is also nothing special as you sneak, kill someone, cut scene, sneak, kill someone, cut scene. Repeat. Roll credits. Game over. Get my point?

That's almost funny.. how fast do you think the Xbox's DVD drive is? MGS4 fills 40GB of the Blu Ray. Even with good compression thats at least 5 DVD's worth of data.

Im pretty sure Gears 2 will be the best Game of this Generation and may be beaten by Gears 3 if its released this gen also.
Resistance 2 dosent look so far that good.
Resistance one was bland and boring, just like Haze.
KZ2 also looks like Haze and a generic FPS. Nothing new or exciting about it.
MotorStorm is just a cheap rip off of Burnout...
LBG i doubt id even get into it and it would be boring after a few minutes...
God of War 3 however could be the PS3's best game....
It is always exciting to have little snippets of news trickle through just before gaming events. E3 used to be like Christmas for me. One of my favourites was the year Nights, Mario 64 and to a lesser extent Crash Bandicoot were being shown.
I don't think the games being shown are as exciting these days. I thought DLC might have been a dream scenario for rejuvination but all has gone a little quiet on that front.
I would really like to see Microsoft hit out in a completely different direction with there big titles. As good as the line-up is I crave diversity that this generation seems to lack a little.

Killer Instinct and Halo Wars are the two. One problem is that Rare has never been able to release one game on time let alone 3 (Banjo,Pin,KI). Alan Wake is 2009 for sure straight from Remedy, although a trailer will be shown along with a few surprise such as a new crimson skies,shadowrun and a new forza. Microsoft will show several surprise trailers for 2009 games, took to much heat for not showing any from last years E3. Also a very short and I mean short clip of Peter Jackson's Halo will also be shown. Also Rare will announce 2 new games for next year. If it's MGS4 a lot of Xbox360 owners will not be able to play it. Konami have stated several times it would need a hard drive. Even the PS3 needs almost 5GB of free drive space to play the game.
Thats because of the blu ray drives slow read speeds, not due to the capacity of the data on the disk.

you can add Infamous, 8 Days, Final Fantasy XIII, Heavy Rain and White Knight Chronicles to the PS3 list. then there's FFXIII Versus and GT5, for what they're worth. also, Conviction is looking murkier and murkier by the minute.

to offer my own opinion, i have a 60/40 interest in Too Human, Alan Wake and Conviction, 70/30 L4D and Infinite Undiscovery, 100% interest in GOW2 and Falbe 2, and no interest in any of the remaining listed 360 games. on the PS3 i have a 50/50 interest in 8 days, 60/40 interest in Heavy Rain, 70/30 interest in LBP and Resistance 2, 80/20 interest in Killzone 2 and Infamous, no interest in GT5 and 100% interest in everything else.

Fable 2 could be fantastic as well, or maybe left 4 dead, alan wake, too human, halo wars, banjo and others.

I admit, and would be oneof the first people to admit it, that some of the games coming on 360 are great,namely Fable 2, but Gears isnt that great, it is extremely linear with awesome graphics (i had it), you would walk in to a place, loads of things would pop out, you cover and shoot, then walk to the next place and do the same thing
Im pretty sure Gears 2 will be the best Game of this Generation and may be beaten by Gears 3 if its released this gen also.
Resistance 2 dosent look so far that good.
Resistance one was bland and boring, just like Haze.
KZ2 also looks like Haze and a generic FPS. Nothing new or exciting about it.
MotorStorm is just a cheap rip off of Burnout...

The best year was 2007, and that year's releases, like Halo 3 and Mass Effect, make 2008 line-up look like an after-thought. WTF is Alan Wake. That is not very interesting imo, nothing that wil be half as good as MGS4, but then again it is PS3's time, as Xbox has already had a lot of good games.

it definitely doesn't look bad, but i don't think it'll be the second coming of Christ. for instance, i'm looking forward to Resident Evil 5 about 1000 times more than i am Alan Wake, but thats not really a fair comparison because RE4 was arguably one of the best game ever made. but no, Alan Wake doesn't look bad by any stretch of the imagination. i'm just wondering what form the action of the game's gonna take. from all i've seen it looks to place emphasis more on investigating and crime-solving than pure scary action like RE. then we still have Silent Hill to consider, and PS3's PSOne remake of Siren, which looks every bit as good as RE5 (graphically at least).

True. There are many great Survival Horror games to come this year and next, the thing with Resi 4 was that although it was a truly great game it more action than horror based, I havent been scared from a game in a long time (damn it). I really like the look of Siren on the PS3 as well, that could be a game that may make look at purchasing a PS3, I think that is deffo coming out this year.

dickhead! MGS4 will not be released for the Xbox360 because it doesn't have a hard drive as standard. As games become more complex it's going to be a problem for Microsoft. If you were less of a fanboy you would realise that. Why was a hard drive standard in the orginal Xbox but not for the Xbox360? I wouldn't be overly suprised if it's either something else from Lionhead or Rare. Although there's obvosuly a good shout for it to be halo wars which i don't think has a confirmed release date yet!
