Microsoft has confirmed that a new edition of Gears of War will be hitting US shelves on June 24 and will be accompanied by a price drop.
The 'two-disc' version will include previously-released multiplayer maps and the Annex game mode.
Achievement whores will be pleased to know that the new version offers the potential to add 250 points to your Gamerscore.
There'll also be a bunch of Gears of War 2 stuff on the second disc too, the majority of which you can see on our Gears of War 2 game information page.
Microsoft UK was unavailable at the time of writing, but we'll be badgering them for a UK ETA and will keep you posted.
Nothing like a quick cash in to pay for gears 2's production But may consider this one and borrow a friends 360 as it is in fairness only game I wanted to play on 360 but mine rrod on me after the first 90 mins so if its 20 quid I may get it coz I should have finished mgs4 by then.
I don't suppose we'll get the extra PC chapter then?
Considering the developers have said the environments in those levels are too much for the 360 to handle, I highly doubt it.
That's not what they said at all. What they said was the the engine had been developed and too many changes had been made for it to run on the 360 version of the engine. Now GoW2 will have an even more updated engine than GoW PC had so that debunks your theory.

Change the record! Get your 360 fixed/replaced by MS then, only a complete cretin wouldn't! Every 360 out is still under the 3 year warranty, theres no excuse, unless you're a Sony fanboy whos just whinging again!

True, i have 2 360's, both since laucnh (360 Pro & Elite) and i havent experinced any problems.
Maybe next time you should take your 360 out of the box and give it some air to breathe...

90 mins?
I doubt it...
The Elite and the Pro never had RROD problems. The motherboards were allowed room to expand when hot. I'm on my third Xbox360. The first two had plenty of room and were well ventilated. It's so far so good with the one I have now. Blaming Sony fanboys for hyping up the RROD isn't helpful. Microsoft made a right pigs ear of the consoles design and fully deserve all the grief they get. I bet they don't make the same mistake with the next generation Xbox.
Well said. However, I thought the Elite did have problems but just less frequently. Need to investigate this as I'm starting to get a bit overexcited about Gears 2.
