Activision cagey on Tony Hawk changeover report

Neversoft not making next Tony Hawks, claim rumours. Publisher silent...
Activision is remaining tight-lipped regarding rumours today that Neversoft has been taken off the Tony Hawks franchise.

The rumours suggest that the Neversoft-created series is now in the hands of new developer Robomodo, who has already disclosed that it's working on an as-yet unnamed game for Activision.

But Activision on the matter that it "does not comment on rumour and speculation".

It seems likely enough to us, considering Activision has gone on record that it's looking to inject a bit more innovation into the series, but we'll have to wait and see...

Activision need to do something because proving ground was d grade material compared to skate

Good. Its about time someone realised.

I used to be a BIG THPS fan until Underground 2 came out and, after playing the demo of Neversofts latest offering, vowed never to buy another (especially after playing Skate for the first time).

well if these rumours are true maybe Robomodo will actually take the advice of the people playing these games and make something realistic and more importantly, fun!

the Tony Hawk games just got to a point where they weren't fun anymore. Skate is a great game for the simple reason that the humble kickflip is just as satisfying to perform as a huge combo in a Tony Hawk game.

The thing about Neversoft is that whenever someone beats their game in sales, they rip off their competitor for the next game - THPS4 was a huge rip off of Aggressive Inline (AI got rid of the timed run idea and just settled for free runs with challenges, soon after THPS4 did exactly the same thing), Proving Ground tried to rip off Skate (camera angle, more realistic setting, replay editor... which was infact the only thing Proving Ground did better than skate, I wanna see a full video editor in Skate 2, then I think it'd be perfect) and now they're doing the same thing with Guitar Hero. Rock Band did something amazing, simply because Harmonix made Guitar Hero a multi-million selling franchise and now Neversoft are in charge they're just looking to copy whatever Harmonix are doing to try and make a game they think will sell millions. Neversoft are getting more and more obvious with the way they rip off other games that I think people just aren't standing for it anymore. They're games are stale and lack any real originality.

End of rant, haha.
