Two more ahem, "golden oldies" have appeared on Xbox Live's Xbox Originals service this morning, the first of which is Vivendi's Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning.
As you can probably guess from the title, New Beginning was the first in the Legend trilogy of Spyro games, adding more action-based platforming gameplay and an even more annoying voice over for the purple dragon.
The second, more interesting title up for download is 2D fighter Guilty Gear XX Reload, which has a fairly large otaku following who'll probably batter us if we say it's boring.
Both games are yours for 1200 Microsoft Points (10 quid). Go mental.
Im well chuffed Guilty Gear XX is coming to originals. I never managed to find the xbox version, and had to settle for the Ps2 port instead, so i'll probably be picking that one up.

I'll avoid Spyro, tho...
Pity - I spotted an offer on the original Xbox version yesterday on hotukdeals for £2.99 (preowned), think it was Gamestation.....the offer has expired now though.

Better to buy these games via XboxLive, even if they are a bit expensive. If you buy pre-owned games then the developers don't make any money from your rose-tinted specs!
Is anyone out there struggling to enjoy old Xbox games like I am? I bought KOTOR the other day because I missed out first time round. Problem is that I can't get into it after playing Mass Effect!
I am tempted to look into Beyond Good and Evil as well, but I don't know whether I'll be able to get past the more dated aspects of these games.
Besides, there's plenty of 360 titles in the pipe already - and I still haven't quite finished Bioshock!

I'm still yet to download anything off XBox Classics - mostly because I still have a large Xbox collection. I think I would be more likely to get it there than go out and buy a preowned copy purely because of the reason you gave.
I wouldn't be interested in either of these, or Beyond Good and Evil....guess I'm still waiting for something (that I don't already own) that would catch my fancy.....Spyro definitely isn't it!
You should definitely persevere with KOTOR - fantastic game, in some ways it's still better than Mass Effect (which I absolutely loved).
GUILTY GEAR might be a no bad game but will it work on the 360 pads. cause streetfighter's near enough impossible to play with it and if it has the typical qtr circle moves we're buggered. as for spyro, you can ram it. don't even think of puttin that time stopping cat game (Blinx?)on there either. the KOTOR games would be a welcome addition though.
It seems as though MS have completely ignored their own comments that Live is overfilled with content nobody wants, because I hardly see how these offerings will swing the balance.
Beyond Good & Evil was okay (had it on the gamecube) but it wasn't the classic its made out to be. Where's Doom 3, Halo 2, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, or even Morrowwind: GotY Edition?
As for Spyro, I'm loathe to say it, but my wife loves that irritating little purple sod, so that'll probably end up costing me a sizeable chunk of my HDD. Thank god I've got an Elite...
I wonder if Outrun2006 will get released on the LIVE originals, if its for underrated games that went under the radar when they were originally released... Outrun2006 more than qualifies.
Unfortunately what Major's not saying is that GGX2 is Worldwide EXCEPT Europe, according to gamerscore blog. My guess: The PAL version, even though its listed as compatible has NEVER worked, which is annoying cos I bought a disc copy cos I loved the game so much. I was thinking that the XBO release would fix the emulator problem, but it looks like its a bigger problem than that

Hotukdeals doesnt allow deals for second hand games

Depends on where you look - there are always people posting things they shouldn't...they tend to be deleted or moved.
EDIT: Actually, I've just been back and seen that it wasn't Guilty Gear - it was something else....something that wasn't preowned, I stand corrected.
