US Marshals pay Jack Thompson a visit

Judge not happy with Jack's words in a letter
Jack Thompson was visited by a pair of US Marshals after he wrote a letter to the Floridian bar member Judge Moreno claiming he had fewer rights than a prisoner at Guantanamo bay.

According to Games Politics, Thompson wrote the letter on Friday expressing his frustrations that he can not obtain judicial relief in his battle against the Florida Bar.

"We find yesterday that enemy combatants at Guantanamo are to get more due process from federal judges than what I am to have," he wrote.

"I guess my 'mistake' was not killing 3000 people to make my point."

Judge Moreno apparently took offence to this and sent two Marshals to have a chat with the attorney. I suppose telling a judge you made a mistake in not killing 3000 people is like joking that you're carrying a bomb through airport security.

In response to the visit, Thompson claimed the Justice Department are harassing him. He has written to the council for the House Judiciary Committee requesting a meeting in Washington to air his complaint.

More soon, then.

I'd love to see a live video feed of this time wasting c**k having his mouth sewn up with fishing wire.

Harsh.

Harsh but fair.

Laughing This guy should be in a nut house, seriously.

Haha, good old Jack Laughing
dark_gamer on 17 Jun '08
Hahahahahahahahaha.

I just hope the US Marshals went over the top and kicked his door in then dragged him out by his hair while one had his gun pointed at Thompson's head and made him scream and cry.
I would pay to see that.

Hes just like a mentalist with ADD.
Waste_Manager on 17 Jun '08
....and so the story of Jack Thompsons' fall from grace continues.

I can imagine C&VG running a story with the headline 'Jack Thompson Will Wrestle For Food in NY Sidewalk' pretty soon.....

Smile

This is starting to cross the line between funny and unpleasant. It's like watching a car crash, or a Britney Spears biography.

LMA Laughing

Love him or hate him he's a part of todays market and the type of comic relief that was once provided by Kuturagi, Yamauchi and such.

I'd love a jack thompson t-shirt.
TheMullet3 on 17 Jun '08
I hope that Thompson finds himself up against some serious charge! And then he breaks bail and goes on a runner. Then they send "Dog the Bounty Hunter" after him to bitch slap his ass good and proper!
wudragon on 17 Jun '08
3 cheers for Jack Thompson and his weekly comedy routine for the entire world to laugh at!

He deserves whatever he gets. He's had it coming to him for along time now by trying to make a name for himself by religiously slamming certain video games.
Rot in hell.
vulcanraven01 on 17 Jun '08
Glad to see another measured response on this subject....

Good old J.T. may have set his sights on gaming and made some (VERY) questionable comments and remarks - but looking at this forum (and forgive me if i missing the irony/sarcasm in some of the posts here...) but its replies like those above that do just as much damage to situation/ammo to the Daily Mail....

Right I'm off to play Murder Simlator IV! Whoa, sorry i meant GTAIV Laughing
Codename21 on 17 Jun '08
Wait, he's complaining about harassment after the number of unsolicitied mail he sends? Is he trying to be funny?

It's about time this asshat got sent to South America or something. Somewhere we won't have to hear from him again.
Dajmin on 17 Jun '08
he will complain that games have done this to him as per usual but as others have said i'd love to see him in jail
greg11 on 17 Jun '08

I still find this situation somewhat amazing, never before have I ever seen anyone so actively trying to destroy their career and life as Jack Thompson is.

There comes a time when you have to accept what's been dealt out to you, especially when you earned it, but frankly I hope he continues in this manner, its what he deserves after some of the stunts he's pulled over the last few years.

My cooking teacher at school joked she was going to do a Dunblane if we didn't shut up!

She got sacked by the way! Laughing
seancuk23 on 18 Jun '08
Hes crazy. The reason hes not getting all the attention is because he fighting a cause thats ultimately pointless. His argument is based strictly on morality, kids should not play violent video games, but its not up to him or the courts the decision, its upto the individuals parents who buy them. He seems unable to grasp the whole basis of freedom. His attempt at creating awareness, by challenging everything, will backfire. I cant see this continuing for very long.

He is not a trained psychiatrist so his idea that games are causing violence is pretty much an opinion rather than a piece of evidence. Even if a murder was a "copy cat killing" of an event in a game he has no proof that it inspired the event, just the act.

Hes fighting video games ffs!! Another form of entertainment. Doesnt a lawyer have bigger fish to fry? Like keeping criminals ON the street?
__SpUtNiK__ on 18 Jun '08
What an idiot! You never say that you're going to kill 3000 ppl, even in jest. If tomorrow 3000 turn up dead, then he's seriously going to be in deep s**t.
BeNdEr91 on 18 Jun '08
What would Rockstar do without their favourite employee?! Laughing

If he continues in this way, they will commit him!! He is clearly unstable. What an Idiot.
Barca Azul on 18 Jun '08
This is taking the p**s. Clearly, this guy either (A) go to a doctor to see if he has a mental problem, (B) Go to jail for disturbing the peace or (C) Shut the F**k up and let people play video Games. He must think Video Games are the Gift of this dude here > Twisted Evil
