Zootfly Ghostbusters footage helped sell concept

Terminal Reality boss says test footage helped green light the project
Cast your minds back to when you saw that first footage of what was reported to be a brand new Ghostbusters game. It looked good but wasn't to be as the developer, Zootfly, didn't hold any rights to the license and had to can it in the end.

Early tech demos were removed at the request of Sony Pictures and all references to the game were removed from the company's website while negotiations over the rights continued behind closed doors. As it turned out Terminal Reality and Sierra were in those talks.

OXM asked Mark Randel, president of Terminal Reality, about the test footage released early last year. "They had no knowledge - we were already working on the game six to nine months at that time, and the license was either signed or about to be signed.

"What Zootfly did for us, inadvertently, is help sell the concept. When their footage came out, we were close to our green-light meeting, and when the executives saw the reaction from the fans, they immediately knew, 'Hey, Ghostbusters is going to be a big hit - we need to put this game into production.'"

So thanks Zootfly, but you won't be getting your name in the credits.

Really, really want this to be good. In my book there aren't many films better than the film.

Please, please don't f**k it up.

Will there be an achievement for crossing the streams?

Something doesn't add up here. Zootfly showed us a tech demo that we could salivate over, then these Terminal Reality jokers turn up claiming they have been working on a Ghostbusters game also for 9 months, but yet have almost nothing to show us?

The Zootfly game was interesting, but I now fully expect Ghostbusters to be a let down. Terminal Reality's previous games read like a who's who of games that probably weren't worth the disk they were printed on.

Watchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis? There's a tonne of screenshots and several videos available for TR's game.

BTW if you're going to go by TR's back catalogue, it might be an idea to do the same with Zootfly. Panzer Elite Action was, to be blunt, utter s**te.
